Which is the best deal to upgrade a GAD to another ticket that does not expire. I am trying to get the most for my money.

We just upgraded ours to renew our annual passes and it saved us a lot of money. We were told here on the boards to use the vouchers to get a ticket and THEN go to the window and upgrade, the very nice CM at Hollywood Studios informed us if we would have done that it wouldn't have worked, so be sure to use the voucher to upgrade BEFORE using it as a ticket.

We are trying to go to disney every other year, so an annual pass would not work for us. Glad you got a good deal.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #18, you will see all the prices. A GAD ticket has the value of a one day one park pass (currently $82 adult/$74 child plus tax). See Post #6 and #7 concerning upgrades. Note that buying a NE ticket is wothwhile only if it will cover two or more complete trips. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

Can you use the GAD ticket for the waterpark? Also, can you get a one day pass for the waterpark? Is it the same price as the other parks? We are thinking of doing our one day at Epcot, but might want a day at the water park.

TIA

Again, if you go to that thread referenced by Cheshire Figment - use the link in his signature - you will find your answer :teeth:

No, you cannot use the GAD voucher to visit a water park but you can buy a plain one day water park ticket for about $48.

Redeem the GAD voucher outside a theme park you will be entering immediately, then at guest relations inside (or come back out and you have several days to decide) you can upgrade to add more days.

Upgrading the GAD ticket to another ticket with days (as opposed to annual pass type tickets) is officially not allowed until the ticket has been activated (used).

If you already went to a water park, you can take the (one) spent water park ticket, your regular ticket (including a used GAD ticket), and about nine dollars and put water park fun on the regular ticket for more water park visits.

(Regular including GAD tickets used more than 13 days ago, and pre-2005 tickets used at all, cannot be involved in upgrades.)

Nice, but uninformed. ;) A GAD ticket that has been used can be upgraded within 14 days of first use, the same as a MYW ticket. Upgrades to APs are allowed before use, but you can upgrade to an AP or a MYW ticket after using your GAD ticket.
