I read somewhere about upgrading passes once you get to WDW but I can't seem to find it now...
I bought a 3 day pass a while back when they were still selling them at par at the Disney Store and I couldn't get the hopper option. I read somewhere that I should use it first before upgrading it. Is this correct? if so why? what's the difference between upgrading it at the gate before using it and using it first THEN upgrading it?

...any information would be appreciated

thanks!!

As soon as you use the pass, Disney recognizes the value as the same as one of their own tickets-as opposed to what you actually paid for it from a discounter. The cost, then, is cheaper to upgrade if it was a "sale" ticket.

Thanks Debbie, that makes sense. Since it was one of Disney's own there shouldn't be any issues but I'll make sure it is used first just in case.

You don't need to use it first because you bought it at full price from Disney.

Tickets that are purchased from other sources need to be used first before upgraded.
