We're going to WDW in September and took the free QSDP since we're staying at a value. We thought about upgrading, but we found out I'm expecting so we thought we'd scale back a little bit. We usually do the DDP and DH is kind of sad because he wants his Boma dinner. Does anyone know if you can upgrade the dining plan for only part of a trip?

You cannot, but you can use TS credits for QS meals, so you'll have to do the math to see if it is worth it.

Honestly, if you are only going to do one TS just pay OOP for it. It Would be easier to budget for that and buy a gift card that covers the cost of the meal.

ITA with this. If Boma is the one definite TS that you would like to have, then I would just pay OOP and have the rest of your meals covered by your QSDP and build it into your budget. Definitely not worth the upgrade in plans for just the one meal and seems a shame to not do something that your really want just because you aren't on the regular DDP.

I agree with the PPs. If you are only planning on going to one TS meal, then I would just pay OOP for it. If you are looking to do several TS meals (or at least one per day on average), then it might be worth looking into the break even point for the upgrade.

The only way to have mixed levels of DDP is to do a split stay. Basically that means multiple resort reservations. The problem is that you would need to buy tickets for each part (unless you're an AP or DVC member) and you may have to transfer rooms in the middle of the trip. It can be a lot of hassle just to get two different levels of DDP.
