Hello everyone-- thank you in advance for any advice.

I just got off the phone with MDE. . I am trying to change the date of my 10 day PH (from June 16 to June 17), and upgrade to a Parkhopper Plus.

I paid just under $760 from UCT back in November 2022.
The current "value" of a 10 day park hopper from Disney direct is $821.
The upgraded value (to change from June 16 to June 17) is $846.

The MDE cast member wanted to charge me $89 per ticket ($360 for 4 tickets) to upgrade, which makes no sense to me. Can someone help me understand what I need to do to get the full value of the ticket? She said that she can only give me the "value" that I paid for the ticket.

Any help would be awesome. Just a little stressed about this bc I had thought I would only have to pay under $30 for an upgrade per ticket (or $120 for 4 tickets). Should I wait until we get there in person and go to Guest Services instead??

I think it would be the value at the time you bought the ticket, not the current value. Prices have gone up since Nov 22 so you wouldn’t get the benefit of the higher value.

Such a disappointment. It used to be different no?

I shouldn’t have bothered buying it then….

No. It was always like that. But to be clear, it’s the Disney value, not the UT value.

If you bought it from UT for 750, but Disney sold it for 800, your value would be $800.

If the ticket is now sold by Disney for 821, you won’t have your ticket valued at 821. It would be valued at 800. You’re still getting that discount, but not as deep.

So it would be the upgrade ticket cost minus 800 (in this example). It’s still better than the upgrade cost minus 750 (which you paid).

You’re still getting a discount, but not as deep. But, that’s the risk of buying a ticket and wanting to upgrade it after prices go up.

Thank you. Disney is truly pricing us out.

We figure a few more years until my youngest is 12, then will not continue to go the way we have been going. Too $$$.

It is price paid now. I have had to change the dates on a few tickets in the last year. Disney knows exactly how much you paid for the ticket and that is how much credit you get.

To get the “full” value, you have to use the ticket as is. The minute you change it, it reverts to the value at the time, (like a credit) then you pay the difference for what you want it to be now.

Unless you need to extend your park days past June 29th, you can still use the tickets as-is without changing the start date. As for the "plus" a 1-day Waterpark ticket costs less than the upgrade so unless you wanted more Waterpark time it is still less expensive to keep the existing tickets and buy separate admission for the sports.

Thx. We are staying until July 3, and guess it’s worth the $89pp to do whatever on the 4 days we can’t go to a park. I hate the 14 day limit.

Guess we will just bite the bullet, pay the extra $360, and water park it 3 days or even 4 just to do it, while mini golfing all 4 days (so we maximize the value of that $89).

Then beach club it the first full day and the last full day we are there.
