Can anyone help me? We have booked a fly drive via Virginatlantic and got the basic car. However, I decided to upgrade it and went into the manage your flights / upgrade car section. Problem is I can't see any of the pictures of the cars or details - just the prices. I can't see a show images tab anywhere. Anyone else experieced and solved this problem? I'm worried we won't get all the luaggage in a basic car.

You should be able to do this on arrival. Just tell them what you want, but am guessing you would rather it done before hand.

We have been upgraded free, many times, so you may get lucky. I plan to upgrade when I arrive, but want to negotiate first to see if I can get a cash discount.

If we can do this on arrival and get a cash discount I don't mind waiting - I wouldn't have thought to request a cash discount. Thanks.

Do they have GPS available for hire on arrival? It wasn't an option on the Virgin site. I think the company is AVIS.

I don't know if you can actually get a cash discount, but its something I'm willing to try. I'm sure you can upgrade on arrival at full price as they have asked me before if I'd like to pay for an upgrade, I then said no, but they upgraded me anyway for free.

You really, really don't need a SATNAV. Its really, really easy to get around Everything is clearly marked. Most Orlando attractions are 20 minutes away by car where ever you are staying. Beaches, Busche Gardens, Kennedy are some distance, but its mostly straight roads, all clearly marked. We took googlemap print outs with us before, which were useful, but not always needed as its easy to get around. Even if you are not a confident driver, or never driven in the US before you will be fine in Orlando.

Virgin now use Alamo for their cars so goto Alamo.com to see cars available.
Any upgrades are usually cheaper to do here rather than wait until you get there plus they will try sell you things you don't need, if you do it there make sure you know what you want and stick to it.
Also look at renting elswhere and not taking the car at all from Virgin. Often cheper that way, just don't tell them or they will charge you about £30pp unpackaging fee.
