Upgrading cabin at port

We've never tried to upgrade our cabin at port. Right now we have a verandah cabin. The family verandah cabin is about $1000 more. When you upgrade at the port do they discount the cabin and if so, is it usually a lot or just a few hundred? There's still a lot of the family verandahs left for our sailing so it has me wondering about possibly upgrading, but not if it would be $1000 more. Thanks

If you attempt to upgrade at the port, yes, it typically is a lower cost than upgrading prior to embarkation day.

There's a schedule they consult where they see what you paid and tell you how much more you must pay to upgrade.

It can be "a lot" or just a few hundred, you never know.

This thread used to track port upgrades, though it doesn't look like anyone has posted since the restart. But it may give you an idea of pricing.

I want to say I've read reports this winter that ranged from barely a savings off pre-cruise pricing to just a couple of hundred dollars. I suppose it also depends on what category you book vs what category you want for an upgrade.

Thank you. There's only 3 of us so the regular verandah cabin is more than enough space. We had a family OV once and it was nice to have a little more room, but a family verandah isn't a must have.
