I rented points to stay at the AKV in a studio and I am concerned it is not going to be big enough. Will Disney allow me to rent more points and upgrade my room?

No, you are not the member and you can't modify the reservation in any way. All you can do is see if the member will rent you more points and reserve a one bedroom instead of a studio. If they won't/can't, you'll be stuck with what you reserved.

Disney doesn't rent points, and doesn't get involved in rental transactions, so they won't be able to help you. You'll have to check with the member you rented from to see if you can get more points from them & if it's even possible to get a 1BR for your time frame.

You do know that check in time for DVC villas isn't until after 4PM. Are you planning on having your bridesmaids change in the room the same day you get it or on the next day? Check out time is 11AM. I hope you have the studio for a few nights and the day you need it is in between your arrival and departure dates. DCV doesn't have any late check outs.

Are the bridesmaids sleeping there? A studio sleeps four.

Four girls could get ready in a studio, even for a wedding. Maybe five. I would not want to be the sixth girl. :sad2: There is only one sink.

My two DD's (in their 20's) share a studio when we go to WDW and I tell you, it is a stretch for the two of them getting ready for dinner or the parks, etc. sharing the bathroom, lol.

If your bridal party is just getting into their gowns there you should be all set. If the getting ready involves showering, makeup, hairdos, etc., I don't think there'll be enough room unless there are just two of you.

Good luck!

A studio at AKV can accomidate 5 people. A value studio 4. I would think it would be hard for 5 girls to only have one bathroom. A one bedroom wouldn't be any better as far as the bathroom goes. You would need a two bedroom to have two bathrooms.

5 girls aren't staying in the room we are just getting ready there but I'm going to see if I can get a one bedroom....we'll see!

A studio still only holds four people plus one child under the age of three. Some of the ONE bedrooms at AKV will sleep five persons with the combination of a king bed in the master bedroom, the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room and the sleeper chair in the living room.

I think you are confusing the studio with the one bedroom.

However, some one bedrooms in Kidani Village (still under construction and not slated to open until sometime in 2009) will have a second bathroom in the villa. But the ones in Jambo house only have one bathroom.

DVC will not mix points but you could potentially change your reservation with the member you rented from and get a 1 BR, if available. If they don't have enough points, you could change a portion and rent the rest either from another member or on cash from DVC. But they will not let you simply upgrade, even for the cash difference.
