Hello!

We are planning to upgrade our 7-day base tickets (bought from the Disney Store) to AP's for our July trip.

Can anyone please let me know if I should use my 7-day ticket to enter a park (any park) first before I upgrade to an annual pass? I heard somewhere that doing this locks my ticket to the current pricing.

Also, after using my ticket to enter the park, can I upgrade to an AP immediately? Do I do this at the "Will Call" window?

Would appreciate any input, thanks!

We upgraded our park tickets to AP's in Jan. at any customer service place, either in front of the parks or DTD. We did use our tickets first, but only because I forgot I needed to show I.D., and left it in my room
It took about 10 min to do. No matter when you exchange your ticket, the full price will be applied to your AP. We have 2 trips this year, totally 15 days so AP was the way to go.
Now if only those Aug. AP rates will come out soon!!!

I upgraded my 7 day base ticket purchased from Undercover Tourist. Since it was a discounted ticket I used it at MK before I upgraded it so that the gate price would be in effect when I went to do the upgrade. I went to guest services at city hall and they did the upgrade for me. At the time, in Dec., it cost around $256USD to upgrade it to an AP.

If you want more details on upgrading tickets check out this thread on the Theme Parks board.

Have a great trip!

I did this in January, but at HS - just went in for the morning and enjoyed some attractions, then went to guest services on my way out - took all of 5 minutes - make sure you have photo id with you. Have a great trip!

Did you get a 10% off card from another DisBoard member? I think they are good til the end of July. That would save you even more money.

Might I suggest that you get a plastic sleeve for it. We did this last Sept and I was suprised to find out that they are paper tickets instead of the plastic ones you get for other tickets. They do give you a folder but I found that they don't hold up to well (maybe cramming 8 tix in it was what did it).
