Upgrading 3-Park ticket to annual pass

If I purchase the 3-park promo ticket, will I be able to upgrade to a 2-park seasonal pass? Or will I have to upgrade to a 3-park seasonal pass? We really only want to do the waterpark in May and not on future trips in the winter.

If you purchase a 3 park ticket and use it at the water park, you can only upgrade to a 3 park annual pass.

You can upgrade to a 2 park AP if you don't go to Volcano Bay. VBay is awesome though. HIGHLY recommend going!
