OK. not trying to be really crazy but was watching a Youtube video of a family going into the Roy O suite and the man stated in the comments that he used the port upgrade trick that he learned on these boards. What is he talking about?

No "trick" really. Once you've checked in at the port, you go to the supervisor's desk (to the right of the check in counter) and see if there are any rooms available for upgrading to. You pay an additional fee, but not the actual difference between your current room and the room you're upgrading to.
It seems like the Roy and Walt suites are always booked pre cruise. We are always to the port early for checking on upgrades and havent found one available yet.

@Longsallyobviously you want to be at the port sooner, than later. but always book a room you will happy with and then if you can get an upgrade consider it a bonus. Good luck and happy cruising.
It varies. Each cruise has a card with what the prices are the various categories for that particular cruise, and the CM has to figure out the difference from what you paid for your original reservation to that (lesser) price on embarkation day. Generally, the price is about 40-60% of the prevailing price for that room the day prior. But can vary.
