Hello. In all the years I have been to Disney I have never been offered an upgrade. I have noticed on many occasions that some of you get these quite regularly. Do yo ask if just wait and see if it happens. Do you wait until you are checking or email or phone. It's just we are staying at serious and it looks like the standard rooms are now in the lodges. I think I would at her be in the main hotel. Thankyou

Never got one and would like to know the secret to it too ;)

Do you mean free upgrades? They're very uncommon.

Or the threads you see on this board that says "I've upgraded"?

I think I've done my own upgrade at least once I every trip.

I originally booked Sequoia. Then a good deal came out and I phoned and upgraded and paid a little bit more to stay at HNY.

Then the 40 days offer came out and was in the budget we'd set so I phoned and paid the extra to upgrade to DLH.

Now waiting to see. If a better deal comes out. If so we'll probably add half board.

I'm an advocate for sending a nice, subtle email a few days before arrival. We have had nicer rooms but not an upgrade per se. I'm in the same boat as Torsie - I generally offer watch and pay to upgrade hotels if it fits our budget. Sometimes you get lucky and get a great deal, sometimes no better offers come along but it's all Disney so happy days!

Being upgraded by Disney does tend to be very rare but it is the luck of the draw. I hope you have a lovely holiday with lots of magic

Ah thankyou for the replies. I want to stay at Sequoia. I find it cosy in the winter months. Might ring a little nearer the time to see how much more a lake view would be. I'm not going until October but am counting the days already xxxx

We had a standard room at the Sequioa booked last week and when we got to check in, I just asked if there was any chance of an upgrade. Lady said no problem and we got a Montana room :)

I've been upgraded for free twice (Sequoia - NPB and Cheyenne - Sequoia). I didn't do anything, they just sent me an email a month or so before letting me know. The last one was about 7 years ago though!

I must just be lucky!
