So once we made our way out of World Showcase, Ally wanted to be on Test Track, like NOW! After all, weve been in Disney World for about 2 hours by now, and she has not ridden a single attraction. Oh, the horrors!!!
As we get to Test Track, we see the standby line of 50 minutes! Talk about the horrors! I dont do long lines! Never have, never will. Not with that there fancy fast pass system!
But the fast passes are gone for the day. So we check out the giant wait times board. Its showing 60 minutes for Soarin, 50 minutes for Test Track, everything else is pretty much a walk on. Including Mission Space.
I have never ridden the orange version of MS. Ive only ridden the chicken version, aka GREEN. And Im fine with that. But Ally, the little adrenaline junkie that she is, has been on the ORANGE version with Jeff, and is now trying to convince me to ride it.
No.
I hear clucking chicken noises coming out of this precious child that I carried for 9 months, and went through 12 hours of labor to bring into this world. And shes mocking me? She IS mocking me! And she now has a death grip on my arm and she is literally dragging me toward MS!
Jeff? Hes walking behind us laughing. Nice. Thanks for the help there buddy!
So I ask a CM as we enter and get our ORANGE tag, Is it seriously THAT much worse than the green side?
She responds, Not really. Do you have high blood pressure?
Kara, I think I do right now.
CM, Do you have heart problems?
Kara, Im thinking I do right now.
CM, Do you suffer from motion sickness?
Kara, Im thinking I will soon.
CM, Youll be fine.
So as we head straight into our prep room, Gary Sinise is trying to convince me that I can do this.
I felt so sorry for the brave man that flew to Mars with us. Sir, if youre reading this, I apologize for the antics you had to witness. I was freaking out, okay? I admit it!
I was the navigator. And thats a BIG responsibility! Ya know? After all, I had to, well, NAVIGATE!!!!
As we got into our ship, I grabbed 2 barf bags and gave one each to Jeff and Ally who were seated on either side of me. I told them that if I got sick it was THEIR responsibility to clean it up, since THEY are the ones who forced me into this. No Cast Members would be required to clean up after me.
The doors closed, and I know my BP was further out of this world, than the red planet that we would soon see! I felt the force of liftoff in my chest.
Was this it? Was this the big one??? Oh, Fred Sanford, honey, I feel your pain!!!!
Finally, it was time to go into hyper sleep I needed this to calm down. Seriously. And it was the nice strangers job to activate hyper sleep so to make sure he didnt screw up, I screamed at the top of my lungs, JUST PRESS THE DAMN BUTTON AND PUT ME TO SLEEP!!!!
Well (spoiler alert!), I dont think it was real. Cause when I woke up, I didnt even need to shave my legs, so it couldnt have been THAT long!
We did our slingshot around the moon, and soon we were landing on Mars. I made it. No barf bags were harmed in the riding of Mission Space. I lived to tell the tale.
And I will NOT EVER ride it again! End of discussion.
After we left Mission Space, it was still EMH at Epcot (again, another clue that hyper sleep was not that long, duh!), so we decided to check out Test Track again. Standby still showed 50 minutes, but as we showed our room keys to the EMH police, we noticed there was no visible line at all. 50 minutes and the line should be out the door. Right?
So we walked in. And walked straight into our briefing room. The only wait was for me to take these pics!
So while we waited for the German and Belgian bricks to be selected, as well as atmospheric simulations 2, 5, and 7 7? Yeah, 7, to be selected, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I looked back and a woman said, Karajeboo? I looked down and sure enough she was sportin a stylish LGMH!!!! It was sleepygirl! Ive never met sleepygirl on the DIS before, but we chatted for a few minutes while we walked through the queue. So heres a shout out to sleepygirl!!!! Hope youre reading!
I think this was the first time Id ridden Test Track at night. It was kinda neat to see Epcot all lit up as we were speeding around the track. Oh, and did I mention how we hammed for the camera right before we went crashing into the wall? Yeah, this was Jeffs idea. But youll notice that his Disney math is still bad so he didnt hold his pose long enough.
When we were viewing our photo, the highly excitable people sitting in the front of our car .
started chuckling when they saw it. Yeah, they wanted to hang with us. Oh yeah. Cause we are the non-barfing, hands in the air, upgrade getting, turning a 50-minute wait into 5, goofy faced peeps that they had the ultimate pleasure to ride with. They were honored I could tell.
After we left TT, we made our way over to Journey into Imagination for a date with Figment. I love that purple thingy. Is he is a dinosaur? Or is he truly a figment of my imagination?
Anyway, as we rode through, with just a couple of other people on this ride with us, we got to the Smells chamber. As soon as Ally held her nose and uttered, oooh! Jeff and I yelled, HE WHO SMELT IT DEALT IT!!!! and pointed obnoxiously to Ally!
Yeah, that was us! Im sure Scooter and Muffy riding a couple of cars behind us did not appreciate our humor. Im sure Scooter and Muffy did not appreciate the smell either ..
I think Scooter and Muffy would have more fun if theyd get that stick out of their ------whoa!!!!! This is a family forum, so Ill keep it clean.
Moving on to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. The more I ride in this clamshell, the more I appreciate the technology in this new attraction. Yes its slow, but I think its so much fun to follow Nemo on his adventures.
It was now about 9pm and we heard Illuminations beginning, so we started to make our way out of the park. But first, Jeff and Ally wanted to ride Spaceship Earth so I hung back to take some pics.
Next up, morning EMH at Studios! Ally, where is your backpack????
