Upgrades, Underwear and Upside Down Fun -5/7 King Louie totally ROCKS!

So once we made our way out of World Showcase, Ally wanted to be on Test Track, like NOW! After all, we’ve been in Disney World for about 2 hours by now, and she has not ridden a single attraction. Oh, the horrors!!!

As we get to Test Track, we see the standby line of 50 minutes! Talk about the horrors! I don’t do long lines! Never have, never will. Not with that there fancy fast pass system!

But the fast passes are gone for the day. So we check out the giant wait times board. It’s showing 60 minutes for Soarin, 50 minutes for Test Track, everything else is pretty much a walk on. Including Mission Space.

I have never ridden the orange version of MS. I’ve only ridden the chicken version, aka GREEN. And I’m fine with that. But Ally, the little adrenaline junkie that she is, has been on the ORANGE version with Jeff, and is now trying to convince me to ride it.

No.

I hear clucking chicken noises coming out of this precious child that I carried for 9 months, and went through 12 hours of labor to bring into this world. And she’s mocking me? She IS mocking me! And she now has a death grip on my arm and she is literally dragging me toward MS!

Jeff? He’s walking behind us laughing. Nice. Thanks for the help there buddy!

So I ask a CM as we enter and get our ORANGE tag, “Is it seriously THAT much worse than the green side?”

She responds, “Not really. Do you have high blood pressure?”
Kara, “I think I do right now.”
CM, “Do you have heart problems?”
Kara, “I’m thinking I do right now.”
CM, “Do you suffer from motion sickness?”
Kara, “I’m thinking I will soon.”
CM, “You’ll be fine.” :scared1:

So as we head straight into our prep room, Gary Sinise is trying to convince me that I can do this.

I felt so sorry for the brave man that flew to Mars with us. Sir, if you’re reading this, I apologize for the antics you had to witness. I was freaking out, okay? I admit it!

I was the navigator. And that’s a BIG responsibility! Ya know? After all, I had to, well, NAVIGATE!!!!

As we got into our ship, I grabbed 2 barf bags and gave one each to Jeff and Ally who were seated on either side of me. I told them that if I got sick it was THEIR responsibility to clean it up, since THEY are the ones who forced me into this. No Cast Members would be required to clean up after me.

The doors closed, and I know my BP was further out of this world, than the red planet that we would soon see! I felt the force of liftoff in my chest.

Was this it? Was this the big one??? Oh, Fred Sanford, honey, I feel your pain!!!!

Finally, it was time to go into hyper sleep – I needed this to calm down. Seriously. And it was the nice stranger’s job to activate hyper sleep so to make sure he didn’t screw up, I screamed at the top of my lungs, “JUST PRESS THE DAMN BUTTON AND PUT ME TO SLEEP!!!!”

Well (spoiler alert!), I don’t think it was real. Cause when I woke up, I didn’t even need to shave my legs, so it couldn’t have been THAT long! ;)

We did our slingshot around the moon, and soon we were landing on Mars. I made it. No barf bags were harmed in the riding of Mission Space. I lived to tell the tale.

And I will NOT EVER ride it again! End of discussion.

After we left Mission Space, it was still EMH at Epcot (again, another clue that hyper sleep was not that long, duh!), so we decided to check out Test Track again. Standby still showed 50 minutes, but as we showed our room keys to the EMH police, we noticed there was no visible line at all. 50 minutes and the line should be out the door. Right?

So we walked in. And walked straight into our briefing room. The only wait was for me to take these pics!

So while we waited for the German and Belgian bricks to be selected, as well as atmospheric simulations 2, 5, and 7 – 7? Yeah, 7, to be selected, I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I looked back and a woman said, “Karajeboo?” I looked down and sure enough she was sportin a stylish LGMH!!!! It was “sleepygirl!” I’ve never met sleepygirl on the DIS before, but we chatted for a few minutes while we walked through the queue. So here’s a shout out to sleepygirl!!!! Hope you’re reading!

I think this was the first time I’d ridden Test Track at night. It was kinda neat to see Epcot all lit up as we were speeding around the track. Oh, and did I mention how we hammed for the camera right before we went crashing into the wall? Yeah, this was Jeff’s idea. But you’ll notice that his Disney math is still bad so he didn’t hold his pose long enough.

When we were viewing our photo, the highly excitable people sitting in the front of our car…. :rolleyes1 started chuckling when they saw it. Yeah, they wanted to hang with us. Oh yeah. Cause we are the non-barfing, hands in the air, upgrade getting, turning a 50-minute wait into 5, goofy faced peeps that they had the ultimate pleasure to ride with. They were honored I could tell.

After we left TT, we made our way over to Journey into Imagination for a date with Figment. I love that purple thingy. Is he is a dinosaur? Or is he truly a figment of my imagination?

Anyway, as we rode through, with just a couple of other people on this ride with us, we got to the Smells chamber. As soon as Ally held her nose and uttered, “oooh!” Jeff and I yelled, “HE WHO SMELT IT DEALT IT!!!!” and pointed obnoxiously to Ally!

Yeah, that was us! I’m sure Scooter and Muffy riding a couple of cars behind us did not appreciate our humor. I’m sure Scooter and Muffy did not appreciate the smell either….. :snooty: I think Scooter and Muffy would have more fun if they’d get that stick out of their ------whoa!!!!! This is a family forum, so I’ll keep it clean.

Moving on…… to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. The more I ride in this clamshell, the more I appreciate the technology in this new attraction. Yes it’s slow, but I think it’s so much fun to follow Nemo on his adventures.

It was now about 9pm and we heard Illuminations beginning, so we started to make our way out of the park. But first, Jeff and Ally wanted to ride Spaceship Earth so I hung back to take some pics.

Next up, morning EMH at Studios! Ally, where is your backpack????

OMG - this post had me cracking up! I'm happy you made it through Mission Space alive :goodvibes And I've never been to see Figment - I'll have to go one of these days.

Oh, great update. I haven't done the Orange side yet. My fingers start to tingle on the lame side, no way will I go on the other side. Your writing was brilliant!

The good thing about going a few times, you start to realize how long the line should be compared to a wait time, so you can tell their time is all off. Ok, this didn't work for Splash Mountain at Christmas when all the FP people showed up after the parade. Seriously, about 100 got ahead of us through the FP line.

I love Figment. I'll have to remember you quote so the DH and I can do that to Jacob sometime.:rotfl:

What!!!! Never seen the purple thingamajiggy? It's cheesy, but it's Epcot and that's why I like it. I like everything Epcot. Soarin, Ellen Degeneres, Figment, Club Kool, Epcot custodians, you name it!

As always great report

Thanx Laura! You're a sweety! Must not be on the ipod, huh? You spelled everything right!

Thanx! You're so sweet! We have a bunch of lakes her in Jacksonville, and some of them get really stagnant. There is one we drive by all the time and if the wind is blowing just right.... it's really rank. And every time now, Ally waits for someone to comment on the smell so SHE can yell, "he who smelt it dealt it!" Yeah. High class comin outta the back seat! Don't know where she gets it!

I absolutely can't wait for more!!!! I am hooked! Great TR!!:goodvibes

Thank you! I swear, it's always an "adventure" of some sort. And Ally is just now learning sarcasm so it's really funny to hear her expressions. Like trying to get me on Mission Space - she would say something and then say, "I was being sarcastic" and roll her eyes. yeah. 8 going on 18. I'm in trouble.

OMG! YOu are soo funny!! How dare that child mock you!
Love the Test Track pic!

I know! What is up with that!!!! Kids these days! Even the dog mocks me at home!

It's funny how some rides bother people while others do not. I can't handle Tower of Terror :scared1: (I don't like drops) but Mission Space doesn't phase me in the slightest.
Great update, can't wait to read more.popcorn::

Hi Kara! Your trip report is already on page 4 and I am just now finding it! Subscribing IMMEDIATELY, of course! :cool1:

Those pictures of CSR are amazing! We LOVE CSR!!! It kind of gives us the "warm & fuzzies" now, because we had SO much fun there on our first trip to WDW.

Look forward to meeting you in May!

Alan

Hey Alan! Thank you for reading along! Yes, I am very excited about the big meet, too!!!! Should be so fun to put faces with stories and screen names!

The bus ride back to CSR was, well, a bus ride! But we got there just after a bus pulled up so it was a walk on! Again, OUR year of a million dreams! :woohoo:

And how do I love thee Coronado Springs? Let me count the near to the park bus stops! I think Epcot is the only park that the CSR bus stop is not the first or second closest to the park exit. And that makes is to much easier dragging one’s tired tail after a long day in the parks.

Even with a hypersleep nap! (Shhh! Still not real!)

We stopped in Café Rix when we got off the bus and grabbed some muffins and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. At least I think it was a cinnamon roll. I pointed and said, “May I have a cinnamon roll please?”

The CM said, “A pecan roll?”
Kara: “Yes, that cinnamon roll there.”
CM: “A pecan roll.”
Kara: “Yeah, whatever that is right there” pointing at this obnoxiously large cinnamon/pecan roll.

So when we went to the cash register, she had written CINNAMON roll on the bag!!! So what was up with the pecan roll thing? Tomayto/Tomahto, Potayto/Potahto, Cinnamon/Pecan. Ah, yeah, I get it now??????

We also grabbed some bottled water (which we did not bring with us this trip because we did not expect to have a fridge at ASMo), and off we went for the short stroll to our much preferred, newly remodeled room. ;)

That’s when I heard it.

Now if you’ve never stayed in any of the resorts with outside entrances, you don’t know about the twisting and winding and turning to get to your room. So even though we were in the nearest cabana to the lobby, we had to make about 758 zigs, or maybe they were zags, I always get those two confused.

And the zigs, zags, twists, and turns, are somewhat secluded, often bordered by Florida vegetation. Or shrubs as some people call them.
And on the way to our room, we heard IT.

To this day I will swear IT was an alligator. Jeff said it was a squirrel. But we had a large pond right on the other side of the vegetation (bushes) and squirrels don’t live in ponds. Nevermind the trees that were all around the pond. It was a alligator. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

The vegetation again - or "bushes" for those of you who prefer the "he who smelt it dealt it" story! ;)

It just wasn’t a hungry alligator. So he left us alone.

And after we had a lizard in our bathtub at Yacht Club, I figured anything was possible, right? After all, what is an alligator but a lizard upgrade?

Hey Kara, I just realized you had a new Trippie started - I kept waiting for your other one to update:thumbsup2 I'll be back after I catch up!

If it was anyone else, I would say it was a squirrel. But you are right, after finding a lizard in your tub that time, an alligator would not surprise me.

You are just the funniest, funniest writer- I LOVE:lovestruc your TR's! I LOL and LMAO at sooooooo much of what you say- thanks! Your conversation with the CM before you got on MS Orange was HYSTERICAL!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And I agree- for anyone else, it would have been a squirrel- but of course, for YOU it was an alligator upgrade!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
