We (me, DH, DD) are going to WDW December 4-11, 2005 staying at the GF, standard room. Is there any chance of a no-cost room upgrade upon check-in? I know we have to ask, but what would you guess the chances are? What about to a concierge level room? Thanks for the input.

About the only complimentary room upgrade that you'd receive is going from a garden to lagoon view room. And that would all depend on resort capacity. You can certainly ask at check in, but if you're looking for concierge, be prepared to pay the difference between a rack rate standard room and the concierge room, or about $225 per night.

We were at the GF last December, same dates as you are going. It is one of the LEAST crowded weeks at WDW, and we expected the hotel to be as empty as the parks were. The GF, however, was booked solid--every room.

I would say your chances of an upgrade (even if you offered to pay for one!) are slim to none. But, it doesn't hurt to ask!

The GF usually runs pretty full, so it's not one I'd think would be giving a lot of upgrades. I've never received one, but I've never specifically asked either. All of our garden views have been lovely :flower:

:wizard: We were there in Jan., not Dec., but we received a room upgrade without even asking! We had paid for garden view, but were upgraded to lagoon view, and we had a wonderful view of the castle as well. We will be asking on our next trip. It can never hurt to ask!! Good Luck! :wizard:

Most times you can get a view upgrade, even without asking, depending on how full the hotel is. But upgrades to concierge are a whole other story.

As another poster said, Dec04 was booked solid at GF. That time Dec03 was over 90% capacity. So I wouldn't anticipate even a lagoon view upgrade, which we have received in Decembers prior.

We were upgraded to the Sugar loaf last Nov for my Birthday :cool1: I really enjoyed the services. I don't feel the prices were worth what we recieved. If we were going ,and never leaving our Resot it would be nice. The food was just so so. Tina
