Upgraded Magicband questions

I have a few questions about magicbands. I see that since I've been to Disney, they've gone to a new version.

We were thinking of purchasing some of the decorated wristbands (either from the Disney Store, or, if specific ones are sold out, Amazon).

1) Will the "old" magicbands still work? Will they cause any problems at the park?

2) The one my daughter was looking at has a warning of "Prop 65 WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm." I assume this is BPA, which is referenced on some of the other bands. I figure if the Disney Store is selling it, it can't be too big a cause for concern. Thoughts?

A. Yes.
B. The "new" ones and the "old" ones are electronically the same.

Don't eat or lick the band and you will be fine. The prop 65 warning is on everything. It probably applies to everything, except food, that you touch in your daily life. The 1.0 have a BPA warning, but not the 2.0. So I think it's some other chemical, maybe PVC

EDIT: It could also be the chemicals in the electronics, ie chips, discreet components, battery. It's probably not lead, since that has been removed from most, if not all, electronics.

It could even be the ink on the packaging. That ca prop affects all sorts of things. And even out there people like me don't worry much about it.

Anyone get a magic and from a secondary source like Amazon or EBay? I'm assuming they should be okay as long as they're unopened...

How would you know that it's "unopened"? Some of the packages, like the limited edition ones, are just cardboard with a lid. There's no plastic clamshell to cut open.

The "old" style bands will still work for FP's, entry and whatever else the RFID chip is for. On the other hand the battery that is inside may be dead. This would mean that in ride photos & videos will not link to your account if the battery is dead.

I have purchased a couple from Ebay, just be sure the seller has good feedback and that the auction states that the MB it is NOT activated, otherwise you can't use it.
