Upgraded From Woodsview To Concierge At Wilderness Lodge

My DH and I just returned from a wonderful week at Wilderness Lodge. We arrived on Friday July 22 around 12 noon and when I checked in I asked if there was any upgrades available. To my surprise the cast member said "Congratulations we have a Concierge room available." I was not sure what that meant so I asked how much more it was going to be and she said "I said Congratulations you are upgraded to Concierge" We received our keys and went up to the 7th floor. It was a nice extra surprise for our week trip. With food available all day we ended up saving money on dining and was able to rent a patoon.

Congrats!!! We checked OUT of WL on July 22....and we had also been given a complementary upgrade ...from standard to Concierge, so I can totally relate to your good news! It was awesome, wasn't it?

I AM SO HOPING FOR AN UPGRADE WHEN WE GO IN 2 WEEKS after reading how everyone seems to get upgraded there. I actually had a dream we didnt and i was so disappointed. i have to get that out of my head in case we dont.

Good luck! We stayed there once before and did not get an upgrade...and the cool thing about our recent one is that we didn't even ASK about it...the CM just pulled up our ressie and told us that we had been upgraded!! Hope you get one too!

Im hoping to slip in the fact that its our anniversary while we are there. i just dont want to sound like im expecting them to do it. Did you ask the first time for the upgrade? Do they tend to upgrade more at the deluxes than the other resorts?

Disneyobsessed - We've been to WDW approx. 30 separate trips (and you think you're "Disneyobsessed"?) - and the ONLY upgrade we've rec'd was from Standard view to savannah view at AKL 4 days after 9/11 (ie...the resort was only about 1/3 full)......We've gone for our 10th Anniversary (and others), milestone birthdays (I would say WHICH milestone - but that would be telling, wouldn't it? ) and others, During chemo, Pregnant, with large family groups, couples only, etc... ----none of these seem to inspire WDW to upgrade us......so now we just pay for concierge

I hope you have better luck than I have....But if I were you, I wouldn't give it another thought..... if you do get some extra pixie dust - Fantastic!....But if you think about it too much, you just might be disappointed with the room you do get (even if it's the room you paid for) ---and that's not the best way to start a vacation....Jill

I totaly agree with you. You just read so much about upgrades it seems almost normal to get one. WOW 30x! what is your favorite resort and time of the year to go. we normally go in april b/c im a shcool teacher but easter is that week in 2006 and i wanted to avoid the HUGE crowds.
