:sad2:

did you check were your cat. 11 is located compare to the almost cat. 10 was, maybe cat 11 is a better room .

the cat. 10 room was on the 2nd level room 2153 214 sq ft
and the cat 11 room is on the level 6 room 6609 184 st ft. I called the disney cruise line and was told by Rob that he has never heard of this happening before. He also said the cruise is full 7/30-8/6, but someone will call me within the next two days if there are any openings.

I have never read of this happening over the past three years on the DIS. Deck 6 is a good location though.

Could they have taken you from an inside room and actuallu upgraded you to an porthole room?

I'd take just about any room on the ship! You might be able to check where your stateroom is located. If you don't want your stateroom, I'll take it! :wave2:

Bummer. I certainly understand that the cruise is full and none may be available, but I would hate to get my hopes up and then be smacked down again.

So, you had documents with your correct information (name, address, etc) with the cat 10 stateroom number and then received new documents downgrading your upgrade? Yikes, what a letdown.

I did look up the stateroom numbers that you mentioned and 2153 is obviously a deluxe with a little more space and the split bathroom. That stateroom is on the 2nd deck, all the way to the back of the ship. If you looked it up, you'd see it almost sits by itself, off to the side. #6609 is still an inside stateroom with the extra space for the split bath. It's on a higher deck though, more towards mid-ship and a few short steps to the laundry room and the elevator.

If the ships full, there might not be anything they can do by way of the stateroom, but I hope they do try and offer you something.

Good luck.

Never had it happen, but gty obviously means that they can put you in any cabin of at least the gty level that they have available.

Cabins have to be shuffled for many reasons. In particular, if they can sell the higher cost room, they will do it. Also, there may be a need for a handicapped cabin which would cause them to shuffle others--everyone gets at least what they booked, but maybe not what they hoped for.

It's a bummer...and I'm sure that they'll move you up if possible. However, your cat 11 is in a good location.......and any cabin on the Magic is a good bedroom!

Room 6609 is an inside state room located on deck 6. One one cruise we were right across the hall. Our friends were in room 6609 - previously they stayed on deck 2 - port hole room. they preferred deck 6.

This is just a few doors from the aft elevators - we like this location. You can take the elevators or walk - no matter if your going up to deck 10/11 or down to deck 3/4 where all the inside action is.

Tip - go to the top of this page and click on Deck Plans - that will show you where the rooms are.

I'd probably prefer the 11 on deck 6. You'll be able to walk up or down to everything easily. I honestly didn't love the split bath.....whatever I needed was in the other room! :flower:

I would have to disagree. The one time we stayed in a Cat 11, the first thing we noticed was the lack of storage space... everywhere. In the Deluxe rooms, you have more wall space with places to store things and the layout of the split baths provide lots of space too. As an example, IMHO, you can be in a deluxe room (Cats 10 and above) and not need an over the door shoe holder (we didn't use all the storage space in a Deluxe room when we had the shoe holder). But that one time we were in a Cat 11, I don't know what we would have done without the shoe holder. Not that we had a lot of stuff (it was only a 4 day cruise) but we had a difficult time finding a place for everything.

My vote is for deck 6. The convience of location would outweigh the split bath for me too.
