Hi there,

got a special question:confused3

We are going to WDW 10/05-10/14/14, DLC 10/24-10/28/14 and WDW 05/07-05/15.

My problem is now that we have 14days tickets via UK for the October trip. Upgrading should be no problem...but...I would like to get Halloween and Tourtickets for our stay at DLC with a discount, but guess I will need an AP number therefore.

As the Premiere AP cannot be ordered online I got the idea to order an AP for DLC....but....will they honer the 14day Ticket AND the DLC AP to get an Premier AP at the counters at WDW:confused3:confused3:confused3

I doubt it. Unless there is a special rule for the PP, you can only "Upgrade" one ticket. You have 2 tickets, if you wanted 2 PPs you could upgrade one and the other.

I would also double check the 14 day tickets are upgradable. Because some tickets are not upgradable. They tend to tbe "Special" tickets, and a UK only 14 day pass is special.

I've read it hear and friends did it lately, so I'm sure this will work.

It's only the thing how I can get the AP Discount for the DLC events when booking at opening day. I'm afraid that the Halloween Nights and Fantasmic Desert Buffet and the Guided Tour is sold out. :confused3

If you are traveling solo, I can't think of any. Like I said you need 2 tickets that you can upgrade for two different people.

All the other ways that I can think of that you can do what you want, involve tying up more money in tickets that you'll use later. I think you just need to bite the bullet and decide, pay full price for the events or have your 14 day tickets and FP+ @60.

The easy part of your question: An upgrade is 1 ticket + cash so you would only be able to use the 14 day Ultimate OR an AP to upgrade to the Premier AP.

The rest of your situation is unique, but with more DW veterans posting that they're planning trips to both parks within a year, it may be you're just ahead of the curve in asking about AP discounts for tours and special events without having a valid DLR AP or AP voucher. :)

I would email Disneyland, explain your situation and see if they have a protocol in place. I would focus on asking about whether you could purchase the MHP tickets, Fantasmic Dessert Party and Guided Tour with an AP discount online (perhaps do will call for the tickets rather than print at home) and when you pick up the tickets at DLR you'll probably have to show your AP. This is what we've been able to do with DW party tickets, but the 2 parks operate independently so this may not be the policy at DLR. If you have to purchase the tickets at full price, ask if the difference can be refunded when you pick up the tickets and show your Premier AP, although I don't know if this is viable with foreign transaction fees and conversion rates.

DLR stopped accepting DW tickets last November for park admission and no one has posted that they've been able to do it this year. Even if DLR still accepts the 14 day Ultimates toward the cost of the DLR AP, you would only get an AP voucher when ordering online. You still have to turn in the voucher in person at DL to get the AP. I don't know if you could arrive at DW with a DL AP voucher and use that to upgrade to the Premier. More things to email DLR and DW about.

Good luck and I hope you'll be able to find a solution.

Last week I took my AP from DLR and my 8 day 1 park WDW ticket to MK and combined them together to upgrade to a premiere pass.

However, I had already used my DLR AP before arriving to WDW. And, it was a huge pain because the people at MK didn't know how to upgrade it. After talking to DLR on my own and trying the MK booths twice, I was able to combine the two tickets and pay the difference. (in my case, I actually got money back)

The official policy is 1 ticket (DLR AP) plus cash to upgrade, not 2 tickets (DLR AP and 8 day MYW ticket) which might be why the CMs didn't know how to do it. On top of that you were given money back when at most they might put over payment on a gift card, although again the official policy is the ticket holder forfeits any overage. Rather than calling it a "huge pain" be happy you got so much pixie dust.

Actually, in the case of the PAP exclusively, the system does allow for two tickets to be "combined" and upgraded. While this is not the case with any other upgrade, it can be done with the PAP. For many CMs, however, they are simply not aware (as it happens very, very rarely) or do not know how to do it. Considering the pass is dealing with two different systems, normal rules generally don't apply.

Wow! I hadn't ever heard that it was allowed. I apologize and I've learned something new. I've had a Premier in the past so I'll keep this in mind for the future.

That sounds great. ....but the next questions are coming up:flower3:

Is it right that I can only order an eTicket for the DLC AP?

So I would then take the voucher and my MB with the 14day ticket (and the invoice from UK) to the counter an ask to upgrade.
Will there be some "magic"pixiedust: words to say to the CM to makes it easier for them to do that?

For the DLC discounts anybody doing the tours will need an AP, right? Or can I order for me and my husband?

And a last question. We will arrive at WDW 10/04 and the 14day ticket is good from 10/05. Do you think we can get the PAP in the evening of the 10/04 or do we have till the ticket is valid?
