Upgrade to Annual Passes?

We have 10 day park hoppers plus and are heading down next week. We will probably head back down later this year or next year to see Galaxy's Edge so I decided to upgrade to Annual Passes since we're not that far off with the 10 day passes.

Can I do this before I use our passes or do I have to wait until we use the first day and then do it on App or Guest Relations?

Also, I know when you upgrade they give you a plain gray Magic Band, can we immediately switch the AP over to our current Magic Bands?

Also, is your Memory Maker active immediately upon activation of Annual Pass?

Any active magic band will work with your AP, no switching over necessary. The free Photopass downloads start immediately after using your ticket for the first time even if you don’t upgrade to AP for a couple of days.

This makes sense, so what you are saying is we are going to use our current bands to have photos taken, so even if we didn't upgrade until our 7th day, they would still be on there, there for we could use our newly linked included memory maker to get any photos linked to our Magic Bands/MDE account.

So, you'll have to wait til you're on property to upgrade to APs, unless you bought the 10-day hoppers directly from Disney and not an authorized reseller. If you purchased directly from Disney, then you should be able to call them to upgrade to APs.

Regardless of when you eventually upgrade to APs, the start date will be backdated to the date of your first entry into a park. You can get dining discounts with the APs, so most like to upgrade sooner, rather than later.

If you use the PLUS entitlement you'll have to upgrade to the level of AP that includes the water parks.

Assuming you will be upgrading to the AP that includes the water parks, it doesn't really matter. I'm not sure there would be a scenario where you would be able to upgrade to the non-water park AP and still actual visit them this trip (since as Sponica said, once you use the entitlement you have to upgrade to the plus AP), so I think you would be pretty set upgrading whenever it is convenient for you. Just make sure you do so before the end of your last park day i.e. before all the entitlements are gone from the ticket.

we're not sure if we are going to do the Water Parks, so maybe I'll just get the regular AP and use the discounts if we decide to go.
