Upgrade to annual pass or do it up front?

Because we now have two WDW trips planned for next year (with our older daughter in the process of planning a Disney wedding), we know that we will eventually get Sorcerer Passes.

My question is are there any benefits to buying our regular tickets first and then upgrading the annual pass later or would it be better to just get the annual passes up front.

We've never had an annual pass, so have no idea what, if any benefits there may be with either method!

I would just get the AP now. It won’t activate until you actually use it so it’s the same as upgrading without that extra step.

I would just buy from the start….you could risk a price increase when waiting…

The only benefit to buying regular tickets and then upgrading would be if the regular tickets were discounted. At time of upgrade, you should receive credit for Disney’s online price of that ticket the day you bought it. Having read more than one report of that not happening, I wouldn’t want to worry about it. I would buy my Sorcerer AP now to avoid a price increase, as Sandi pointed out.
