Upgrade to add club level?

Just wondering if anyone has "added" club level ammenities to standard room, or if this is even possible? I know I've heard of upgrading rooms sometimes for a "few" bucks.... but what about club level? Wouldn't this be nice if they would allow it at checkin?!

They do it at Portofino since club level isn't a floor but it is an individual room that you have access to. At Hard Rock and Royal Pacific club level is an entire floor and your room key allows you access to that floor where other people on other floors don't get that access.

I have heard of people being comped club level access at HRH and RPH when something has gone wrong and the hotel is trying to make amends.

We inquired about upgrading to club level at the Royal Pacific and they didn't have a room that accomodates 4 people(2 beds). Sounds like a lot of king rooms on that 7th floor. Anyways, offered us a room on the 4th floor but we were also given a key that gave us access to the club floor. She said it would be $100 charge, but then only charged us $75 because they couldn't accomodate us on the 7th floor. We were only there 1 night.
