Upgrade Tix at Park

I advance purchased 4 day hopper passes for our trip (I love the sound of this) NEXT WEEK!

If I upgraded to 7 day hoppers at the gate, I assume I would have to pay at the gate prices, but would I get at the gate credit for the 4 days that I already purchased?

Here's why I'm thinking about doing this...

My DS is turning 13 next January (2006). I told him we could go somewhere just him and I (leave Dad and sister home) and a friend. Well we might bring Dad...Sister will get her own trip when she turns 13.

Well if I upgrade to 7 day hoppers, I'll have 12 days remaining on the 4 tickets that I have..enough for the 3 of us for a quick 4 day trip next year. Quite a savings over purchasing new 4 day hoppers in January 2006.

You would get a dollar credit, not a days credit. This almost always works against you.

If the tickets you originally purchased were wholesaled at a discount, the dollar credit you get for trading up could be smaller than what you paid.

Ask to find out how much credit you would get before doing the deal.

Tickets may only be upgraded within 7 days of purchase. Otherwise, they would credit the price of the days left on your old tickets and apply it to your new tickets. This most often does not come out to the benefit of the guest, money-wise.

If you expect several trips for yourself, consider the upgrade to either an AP or PAP. You might go to http://allearsnet.com/pl/breakeven.php on Deb's board to see if it is worthwhile.

It won't be within the year....We had an AP a few years ago and went 2x...It worked out great, but we wanted to go ahead of Christmas this year, and end of January early February 2006....So I think the hopper pass that doesn't expire would be a better option this year.
