If we have discounted passes and want to use those towards an annual pass how does that work.Howi sthe additional cost figured out? DO they go from the price of your ticket?

For us they went with what we paid exactly for the tickets, then we had to pay the difference.

This is one of the major differences between WDW and DL, at WDW it seems as long as you use the first day of a multi-day discounted ticket you get to upgrade by only paying the difference between the regular price and the upgrade price, at Disneyland though you pay the difference between what you paid and what the price of the upgraded ticket is, also be aware that if you have already used the first day of your ticket your expiration date of your annual pass will be back dated to the first date that you used the ticket.
