Upgrade ticket immediately before first use?

Would I be able to add the park hopper/water park option to a base ticket at a water park, before using the ticket for the first time?

Plans changed, and we'll be going to a water park on our arrival day. Originally we planned on going to Magic Kingdom and then upgrading the tickets.
