we are going to my to the world in a few weeks .
We have base tickets .
I am thinking of upgrading to hoppers when we get there.
I purchased my tickets before price increase .

Will there be more of a charge if I change my tickets to hoppers Aside from the standard price.
Will I get hit with the new park price as well ??

As long as you use your tickets at least once before upgrading, you'll only get charged the difference between base and hoppers.

It isn't nearly that straight forward.

I realized after I posted that tickets purchased directly from Disney (and not part of a package) can't be bridged, but other than that, what other situation would be exempt from bridging?

I purchased my tickets only through AAA. It is not part of a package .
Tickets purchased from a third party reseller or as a package will be "bridged" to the current gate price as long as they have been used at least once. The price to upgrade is based on the original tickets. "Upgrade" is a bit of a misnomer; it's better described as an "exchange." If you wait until your last day to add the hopper option, you'll still be charged the price based on the original tickets.

How many days are the tickets?

Right now the cost to add hopper to a 2- or 3-day ticket is $55 (plus tax).

For a 4-day or longer ticket, it's $69 (plus tax).

Kinda going off OP's question, how much would it be to add 1 more day to a "4-Day Base Ticket" purchased from Disney prior to the price increase? I purchased them early February 2016. Would I be charged the current difference between the 4-Day and 5-Day ($15 +tax) or the $15 difference AND the price increase? I understand that any additions should happen only after the first use of the ticket.

I don't really know what "bridging" means or how that works, so your insight is greatly appreciated!

1. Would I be charged the current difference between the 4-Day and 5-Day ($15 +tax)
2. or the $15 difference AND the price increase?

WELL…
Did you buy the ticket from the Disney Website or from Disney by Phone?
If so, then…

1. No.
2. Yes.
3. Don't worry about what or why... It's a Disney thing.

OR…
Did you buy the ticket as part of a Disney Resort Package?
If so, then…

1. Yes, if you use the ticket to enter a theme park BEFORE you do the upgrade.
2. No.
3. Don't worry about what or why... It's a Disney thing.

Online, and stand alone (not part of a package). Sorry, I'm trying to be as specific as possible but some details might have slipped!

Then, no "price bridging" will apply.
You will need to pay the new up-change and the price-difference.

And, yes, that does mean that it is nearly always a better idea to NOT buy your tickets directly from Disney.

Oh goodness I m even more confused now.

Trying to decide if I should upgrade my 5 day passes to hoppers....

I will only hop 2 out of the 5 days.

If it's going to be to pricey I will just skip my hopping option. All I really want to do is hop over to AK one night to seek ROL. If it's going to cost me a fortune to do this then I will just skip it. It has a value of around 5 0 dollars to me ??

Any suggestions ?

WAIT until you are at WDW and see if you want to park hop (even on the day-of.)
It will cost the same price to upgrade at that time, so no need to worry about it now.
