Upgrade MYW Tickets?

I just booked a 5-night package with 6-day MYW tickets. Since the park hopping and water parks are added for free, I'm thinking of upgrading my tickets to a 10-day with no expiration. Anyone know what the upgrade price would be per ticket? Or at least point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Going from six day to ten day base has a difference of $8.56 including tax. Adding no expire to a ten day is $143.78 including tax, so it would be $152.30 total. There might be a slight difference in a child's ticket, but it would be less than a dollar.

That $150 might be money very well spent. A 10 day non-expiring MYW ticket with the add on-minor parks includes 10 major park days (MK/AK/Epcot/MGM) and 6 minor park days (BB/TL/DQ/PI/WWoS) so if you are basically coming for 5 nights you might do DQ on the day you arrive, use 4 major park days and a water park day while you're there for the rest of your vacation...leaving you with 6 major park days and 4 minor park days per ticket. This is more than enough for another whole vacation, purchased for only $150! Even if you did 5 major parks, DQ and a water park on your original vacation it would still be a big bargain...and never underestimate the value of just spending a day at your resort swimming and/or maybe shopping or monorail hopping...

This thread has me thinking about the nonexpiry option.

We're planning 7 nights in May at a mod. for $1,871 (2 adults & 1 teen)with MYW package and add ons.

If we upgrade tickets to 10 days and no expiration the cost goes ups to $2315.

I'm estimating the 7 nights lodging @ $125/night(low estimate, but maybe with AAA discount etc.), that leaves paying $1,440 ($480 each) for 10 park tickets and 6 minor parks.

Is there any better way to get this many park days if you plan on spacing your trips at least a year apart? :)

Thanks for the breakdown!! Now I just need to decide if we want to spend an additional $300 (2 adults) to get 4 more days added to our tickets. The water park add-on doesn't do anything for us - we're not fond of the water parks so don't go.

Adding the no-expiration is costly! I didn't realize it would be so much... Is 4 days worth $150? I mean, if it only saves us $50, then it's not worth it for us to have to pay up front now. I'd rather just pay the extra $50 on our next trip to get tickets. If you know what I mean? lol

Yes, adding the no-expiration is costly but look at it this way:

It will cost you an additional $150 now to add 4 more days and no-expiry to that ticket. The cost of buying a 4-day Hopper (expiry) during another visit is $248.15. So, if you were to buy the 10-day ticket (no-expiry) now, it will save you $98 (or more if ticket prices go up).

Plus, you'll get the bonuses of the waterparks, DQ and PI. Even if you only visit any of those places to keep someone else in your group company, you'll be getting in without having to drop a dime.

Your boys look as if they would be DQ fans...and DQ in itself is a park day. This is in DTD and is 5 floors of interactive family games, individual games and virtual reality...also internet access is included with your ticket, so if you want to spend your time accessing your email etc. while the rest of the family drives virtual race cars, motorcycles and Star Wars Ewoks vehicles (star speeders?) etc...it's a great way to catch up!

You also might give the water parks a try...Disney waterparks are unlike any other waterpark to which you have ever been, so you might find while you don't like swimming in general, this would suit you. I spend my day in the lazy river part because I just love being wafted around on a floatie...sigh...the water is only 3 feet deep in this part. It isn't worrisome for non-swimmers. The family raft ride at BB ends up in a very shallow pool (knee deep) and the kids LOVE this ride! If you are adventurous, they provide you with mask, snorkle and vest while you doggie paddle across the salt water shark pool at Typhoon Lagoon. This is all included with your ticket. It might give your kids something to talk about for weeks! :)

Disney's Wide World of Sports is also included in the extra day tickets. Boys generally have a ball over there for an afternoon, pitting themselves against basketball thingies and other sports stuff...not my cup of tea, but the men in my family enjoy this.

I'm mentioning this because on a week vacation it is so nice to intersperse long energy-consuming park days with a water-park day or a half day at DQ or WWoS...the kids...especially boys, seem to like this as well as go go going every day to a major park...and you have time to savor all the experiences (both major and minor parks) with full energy.
