Upgrade Hoopdedoo category?

We are on the DDP. I understand with the dining plan one can only do an ADR for Category 2 or 3. I also understand that sometimes in the earliest show at 5:30 you may get an upgrade since the dining hall may not be full and it is easier on the waitstaff if everyone is downstairs. I also understand that the last show at 9:30 DDP can possibly book Category 1.

That being understood, if we would like to go at the middle show of 7:15 (can't exactly recall the time) and we are only permitted to book Category 2 or 3 using the DPP is it possible to ask to pay the difference and get Category 1?

Has anyone done this or asked to do this?

No, if you're on DDP they won't let you pay the difference. If Cat. 1 is not filled you might get bumped up though. Not sure you can ask for that, it might just happen, but you can try.

An upgrade will really only happen at the 930 show and that almost always from 3 to 2...If I were you I'd Book Cat 1 as cat 2 is usally a worse view of the show than cat 3...and cat 3 can feel like your watching people have fun instead of having fun yourself...Go for cat 1 if you can afford to you wond be disappointed

We had amazing seats in Category 2 (right next to the Category 1 folks!). The actors stopped at our table a number of times during the performance, the kids had a blast

We booked Cat.2 seats, but when we arrived there is no way we were seated in Cat.2. We were one table away from the stage right in the middle.
