Upgrade Deal?!

A family friend was talking to a Disney employee today, and they mentioned some kind of upgrading deal for $30 extra a day to upgrade from value to moderate, or something like that.
They also mentioned something about a special price to upgrade from a moderate to value, but I don't see any posts here yet.
I must've missed something.
Has anyone else heard of this?

When do you ask for an up-sell? I have heard of this on cruise ships before but not resorts, but then I am new to this. Could you try and get an up-sell when you arrive or only in advance? We paid in full already since our trip is so close. Wondering about this though!!

Have they ever done this for Moderate to Deluxe? That would be an incredible break

Well, probably not. Two reasons. First, you already booked. Second, please note where RustyScupper stressed "4) When booking a non-discounted Value...". Free Dining is a discount. So, no.

There is no upsell rate. If you call for a value resort and ask for an "upsell" rate theyre gonna sell you a moderate at the regular rate anyone else would get.
