Upgrade coupon with national

Can you use an upgrade coupon from entertainment book with national if i want to use emerald aisle? If so, how do i go about doing so. Thank you. I am new to this EA.

No, you have to go to the counter with an upgrade coupon. You can, however, use an upgrade coupon with Emerald Club.

Most of the coupons will not get you an intermediate rental, and that is the only way you can use the aisle. For larger cars and for compacts you use what they call Emerald Reserve.

To use the coupon, just select the car you want before the upgrade and put the upgrade coupon number in the appropriate space on the website.

Wow Gail, Thanks so much that was fast. I knew I could count on you. Ok....I am only needing the car for one day to get from the airport to our hotel. Let me make sure I got this correct....I will have to go to the counter first with my upgrade coupon, and since the rental would be a standard size after the upgrade, which ended up being cheaper that the EA, I get to pick something in the standard size aisle? Ok..here is another question, what can be seen in the standard size aisle for National besides monte carlos. Anyone with experiences here? Is there an emerald club line i can stand in rather than the regular line. I have never rented from National, only Dollar so i will probably have more questions later on. Do you find the selection better at the A or B side of the airport? Thanks again.

Yes, you will have to go to the counter first. Yes, you will pick from the full size aisle as they do not have a standard aisle.
As to the dedicated window at the counter, I have heard they do, but, have never noticed it as I have never used an upgrade coupon, hence, have never gone to the counter.
There are very few 2 door full size cars (which is what a standard is). You may see the Montes, Intrepids, Impalas, Centuries, Regals and a few others. I only use the side I arrive on. The thought of trekking up onefloor to go across the airport to the other garage and down two floors to cross the street to the garage does not excite me in the least. So.....I cannot answer the selection question. We have always had an ample selection of cars on the side where we land.

The nice thing about Nationals upgrade coupon is that the upgraded level is what actually appears on the confirmation. IE I reserved an intermediate with a double upgrade Ent book code and the car that is confirmed and appears on the reservation is the SUV. Other comapnies I tried still listed the intermediate on the confirmation with an upgrade "if available." Did that make any sense?

You got a SUV with a double upgrade from intermediate. You sure got lucky, when I do that I get a full size car.

I would love to see that happen for a convertable.

Gail- We'll see how lucky I am when it really happens! I printed out many copies of the confirmation just in case. I am reserved through Sanford airport if that makes any difference.

Not sure it makes a difference, but, you did get lucky!!! They will honor what you have printed.
