Upgrade both a blessing and a curse!

We just got back from a split-stay. We had booked a 2 bedroom at Boulder Ridge followed by a 2 bedroom lock-off at Jambo House. At Boulder Ridge, we got a call from the front desk saying they were having trouble getting the 2 bedrooms ready so could they switch us to a Copper Creek Cascade Cabin (obviously I said yes!). It was perfect and the kids greatly enjoyed splashing around in the hot tub!
Which brings me to the curse part - going over to a 2 bedroom lock-off at AKL was HARD (made a bit harder by the fact that our room wasn't ready until 7 PM). And of course, we now very much want to spend a week in the cabins so looks like we will need some more points soon.

Exactly - now we KNOW what we are missing! It doesn't help that my husband is from the Pacific Northwest so he said it felt just like home

Tis better to have experienced the Cabin and moved to a small 2BR, than to never have experienced the Cabin at all!! We managed a 2-night stay at the CC cabins last year due to excess DVC points at the time, and it's just amazing. Maybe you'll get back someday!!

My husband travels a lot and as soon as he got "status" they free upgraded him up to business class. The agent said they do it because once you experience it, you won't be happy back in coach....and she was right! DVC doing the same on you...totally a blessing and a curse! But, I'm glad you got to experience the cabins!
