Upgrade 5 day PH to 8 day MYW PH???

We have 2 - 5 day Park Hoppers left over from a couple years ago.
We've been just getting APs the last few years because it's been cheaper.
Now with the MYW tickets.....going to try that for this trip...

Question......can we upgrade our 5-day PH for 8 day MYW tickets??

There is only a $10 difference between the 5 and 8 day base...plus the $37 to make it a hopper.

Wondering if anyone knows if I can just pay the $47 to upgrade ???

When you upgrade your tickets, they give you credit for either the price you paid for it or the gate price of your ticket at the time of purchase. I keep getting conflicting answers on that. If you have a partially used ticket that you're upgrading, then they prorate the credit they give you.
