Upgrade 1 Day to 3 Day Play Pass then...

I have 3 1 day tickets I received in Sept. 2005 from the free Dining special Disney ran. I had already had season passes then so I didn't use the 1 day tickets.

My first question:
Can I use those 3 tickets to upgrade to 3 different 3 Day Play Passes (I am a Florida resident). If I can, how much are those 1 day tickets worth towards the 3 Day Play Passes?

My second question:
If I buy the 3 Day Play Pass in July, can I upgrade to the Florida resident Seasonal Pass within 6 months, even though the original usage of the 3 Day Play Pass is during a normal blackout for the Seasonal Pass?

1) Maybe.
2) If they are promotional and "complimentary", no you cannot.

How do I know if they are complimentary or promotional? I received them with my package last year during the Free Dining special (same as the one going on this August and September). Anyone able to use those park tickets to upgrade?

The tickets that came with your package can be upgraded one at a time after you get them whenever you want.

As far as I know, Play Passes are promotional and Disney does not allow you to trade towards one or upgrade a partially used one.

I know that they do allow you to upgrade from a 3 Day Play Pass to a Fl. Seasonal pass because I did it last year. They allow you to upgrade within 6 months, although back dated to first use, even if you used up all 3 days at the beginning of the 6 month period. That is actually what I did. What concerns me is if they will allow me to upgrade a 3 Day Play Pass which was used during the normal black out period of the Fl. Seasonal Pass (as in, can my pass have an expiration date which falls during a blackout period).

I was told no over the phone. Later I decided I didn't want to do that anyway. If you really want a 3 play, you might try to upgrade it at guest services in DTD but have a backup plan. I know you CAN upgrade it to the FL seasonal, a waterpark pass or an Epcot after 4 pass. You might find one of the less expensive passes a good complement to the 3 play, depending on your needs. Any annual pass qualifies you for DDE.
