Updating waitlist

I have a quick question regarding waitlists. I had been waiting to bank my points (today is my deadline) in hopes I could get the one night I need in September booked by stalking/waitlist. Well since I need to bank the last 17 points I have today in the event I can’t get the room booked, I’m thinking I need to cancel and then re-waitlist my stay since I originally indicated “do not borrow”. Is it correct that I have to totally cancel my old waitlist request so I can modify it to allow the points be borrowed? It’s so frustrating having to completely cancel my waitlist request when I’m not changing dates or anything, just where the points are being taken from. Thanks for the help!
 
You don't need to cancel it, but use chat or call to ask them to add the note that you are now allowing them to borrow points. This way, you don't lose your place in line. I would say email as well but since those are not being answered timely right now, I would want that note ASAP.

If you log in and chat is not available...just wait it out as it usually pops up in 10 minutes or so. Obviously, not today as MS is not working...but tomorrow!
 
And the website is down again and has been since yesterday, so good luck.

Thank you Sandi! So glad I asked. I already canceled and re-waitlisted one of the two (I have a standard and preferred view waitlisted). Wish I would’ve asked before I did that!
 

Really? I’ve already been on the website a few times today stalking my dates.
I've also been on the member's website today and just signed off a few moments ago. It's not down now and AFAIK, hadn't been down. @Firepath must have some other issue.

I was on yesterday and just a little bit ago. Have you tried clearing cookies or using another browser or device?

Today is Memorial Day. Members services are closed. You can use online services. Chat is probably not an option today since the CMs have the day off.
OP, I’ve been in your situation and sadly had to cancel my W/L. Did you choose borrow If no points are available?
 
I think MS can change your waitlist to change it to allow for borrowing. Just leave it in place and call or chat with them sometime later this week.

Is there any trick for getting the chat to pop up? I’ve been logged in all morning and it hasn’t come available. I’m on my phone on my dashboard, if that makes any difference?

I just keep toggling between the different spots and it comes up. Maybe today because of the holiday yesterday it’s busier than usual
