I'm sure there is a thread for this but. . .Any information about the updated premium campsites would be appreciated. We have not stayed in FW since 2004. We have a 38ft. fifth wheel with three slides and we tow it with a crew cab dually. When we camped in 2004 we had a 27 ft. fifth wheel and back then we were a little cramped in the 300 loop(I know it is a preferred loop). We have a pet that travels with us so info about the pet friendly loops would be great also!

This will be our third trip to WDW. We chaperoned a band trip in '08 and stayed off property. That showed us that it is definately better to stay on property when visiting WDW because we spent lots of valuable time traveling to and from the parks! Time we could have used within the parks!

I'd like to hear more info too...we last stayed at the Fort in 2005 and we had the same experience as you with a cramped spot. We're headed back to the Fort in late May/early June and we now have a larger camper and truck now, too and my DH was worried about backing it into a tight spot.

400-1400 are the new "Premium/big rig" sites. They have made the concrete pads larger and eleminated most if not all of the sand pad, widened the entrances and removed trees.

As to pets they are just about putting pets on any site depending on how busy they are.

Thanks mnsprk! I read on a WDW website that you had to request a pet loop after I'd made reservations so I called back to request one. I looked at the youtube videos that show some of the premium loops but I wanted someone that had actually camped in one to help with this one. I appreciate the info!!!

We've stayed in 500 (premium pet). I can't speak to getting a big rig in, although have seen plenty in there.

The loop itself is in a good location - close to the dog park/playground, fairly short walk to the Settlement/Marina, not super far from the pool

Sites are spaced out fairly nicely. It's a bit "open" in some areas - they cleared out non-native plants recently and replanted others, and they're still in the process of growing/filling out.

Definitely would stay in this loop again.

I can't say either about the ease of backing in large trailers as we only have a 26ft tt and both sites we have had at FW were extremely easy to back into....
In 2009 we stayed in the full hookup 1900 loop and a few weeks ago we stayed in the premium 1400 loop.
Differences were: upgraded picnic table and bbq, wider paved entrance to site and completely paved (no coquina shell pad). I can say that I didn't think the premium sites were worth the extra $30 we paid in 2010 compared to 2009.... but like I said we only have a smaller trailer....

We were on 800 loop this past fall. The site we were on (outboard) was huge. We tow a 32 foot 5th wheel with F250 diesel and had plenty of room for the camper and truck. Even DH was able to get our rig in spot with minimal trouble. I mention this as backing into spot is still a little difficult for him which I find amazing as he is so good with everything else dealing with the camper. I also know that there was originally a dog on this loop as it barked every 10 minutes the first night we were there. Didn't hear it anymore after a CM stopped by. Don't know if the dog was put in the kennel because it was a noise nuisance or because no dogs were supposed to be on that loop.

Was on site 1401 last week with my 40' MH. Fit no problem along with my tow car and golf cart. Plenty of room for my slides and still able to walk around my MH.

Best Regards!
