Hello fellow Canadians,

My bf and I are planning a trip to WDW this spring/ summer, but have a not so common roadblock! His passport expires mid April. :sad2: So.... he is frantically doing the passport scramble and we're hoping to get it back asap. Our dates are very flexible but the sooner, the cheaper for us students! I was just wondering if anyone knows roughly the current wait for passports? He's done the online form and is sending it out of Edmonton in person and is going to pick it up in person as well (none of the mail stuff!). I've heard it's about a 10 business day wait, but I don't know if that's just wishful thinking! Thanks a lot for any predictions! :cool1:

to find out where the heck mine was (couriered it in JANUARY). The message said up to 10 week wait for all passports no matter how they arrive.
Crazy!
But, I've read good things here about people who have brought their passport info directly to the office.

I went to the main Passport Office in downtown Calgary on March 21st with my application, hubby's and kids. I had just found out I had to fly to Orlando on April 11th. After paying the additional $10 I was given a receipt to pick it up on April 4th. They assured me it would be there to pick up. I had to show proof of my flight in order for them to put the rush on. Took me 1.5 hours. They said I should have hubby's and kids within 8 weeks, which is fine as they family is not going down until October.

DH went into the Ottawa office around lunch on Fri to do his renewal (in line for 30min) and he picked up his new passport on Monday (10 min wait). So one business day.

Thanks everyone! Done all we can do and we'll hope for the best! We would totally put the rush order on it; however, our dates are so flexible because we're flying stand by! So that's kind of a kicker but hey I'm not going to complain! Atleast I may be able to have my WDW fill!!! Thanks again!

Well both DH & I went to the Halifax passport office and handed in our applications on Feb. 23rd. I had mine in hand March 23rd and DH had his March 26, so both were roughly a 1 month wait. DH's grandmother passed her's in on March 8th and had a slip in her mail March 22nd. We picked it up today and it was her passport- only 2 weeks. So you know they can do it quicker then they say, it's just all depends on who you get at the passport office (IMO!!)

my wife and I tried to go to get our passports done in Surrey and were told the wait in line was 5 hrs, I don't think that there was alot of happy people standing in the line up, and it was raining so we are going to do it in another couple of weeks, we're planning on going to DL in Oct, so we have a little bit of time

Was the additional $10 money you paid to rush the application? We are trying to get my mom's back by May 11th, so if we could pay extra to get it rushed, that would be great.

Awesome! I didn't know that you could do that! This is kind of a short notice trip for my mom. Thanks for your help!
