Updated list of Refurbs for 2014

Oh well. We're going 2/1-2/4. We had specifically planned THIS trip around BTMRR's refurb schedule, as it's the favorite of every member of our family. Unfortunately, we can't change it now.

At least we get Pirates now! Always a silver lining. :)

At least the Alice in Wonderland refurbishment start date is looking pretty solid. In addition to the dates found on the map (March 10 - July 3), the daily calendar first shows it under refurbishment on March 10.

Exactly. I still expect Dream.Finder to use this date as official word from Disney for future posts much like the Jan 31st date. ;)

The whole problem here is that the phone line & website are not updated correctly. And the refurbs keep changing, so none of those methods are going to be accurate. Refurbs that were supposed to happen THIS month have been pushed back with no "official" word from Disney - it's only been people digging around the map that found it. And that has been in the last week that it changed. There isn't any complete information for March, April or May. You may find out in June about July, but they won't tell you now.
You know, I've been going to Disneyland for 30 years and I love it. I have always leaned more on the "Disney can do no wrong" fence BUT...THIS has gotten me irritated. More and more, It really looks a whole lot like they purposely wait to put refurbs up "officially" until a month or a few weeks before so that people don't have a chance to cancel by that point. I mean, how many people would cancel in a heartbeat if they knew SO many major attractions would be down for sure? Oh but wait! It's too late now! (fyi: that's the Disney execs laughing all the way to the bank. lol) I think they absolutely know this and they, being a business and all, don't want people to cancel, so they wait until the last second to divulge the info. Well this is really what it is starting to look like anyway. sad. :confused3

To be clear, I've said time & time again I think they should get the information out there earlier & more accessible to find. It shouldn't be a treasure hunt to get information like that. I also think they should update their hours more than 4-6 weeks out. But that isn't how they do things. My comment was in response to somebody expecting information about refurbs in July now, and via email at that. It isn't going to happen. And since we all know this is how Disney works, I guess our options are to deal with it or choose to spend our vacation dollars elsewhere. I chose to still go to Disney and deal with whatever refurbs are going on, but that may not be the answer for everybody. It also doesn't mean people can't come here to complain & be frustrated - I get it, trust me, but I honestly don't see what good writing letters is going to do. I've seen a lot of good attitudes about it - it sucks, but we'll still have a great time, but I've also seen a huge number who are going to set themselves up for a miserable time on their trips because they are so upset about it.

Did the refurb of Indy and Space mountain get pushed back? I've been checking the calendar for our dates (Mar 2-7) and last week it listed those rides along with Big Thunder Mountain....but now I don't see them listed.

I'm hoping this is the case!!! My kids were really disappointed. I don't have the heart to tell them yet that BTMR is still going to closed yet....that is their FAVORITE. Hoping this Indy and Space news will be true and soften the blow.

Is it possible the whole "Pirates" potentially being closed at the end of April is a mix up? I noticed that it's slated to close in disney WORLD at that time?

Oh no... that'd be great for you but I'm hoping Indy is closed. That is my ONE ride I'm holding out on since we are in that first week of May crowd.

They are still showing up on the attractions map but are not listed on the entertainment calendar. My guess is that they are rethinking the dates on Indy, Space or both.

I think the end of April is just what people were told by different CMs. Currently there is no info about a pirates refurb. At least that I could find for now.

Just saw that the refurbs for Indiana and SM have been pushed back. I don't know when they are to start but the calendar is no longer showing them for the first week in March! Hopefully that will help soften the blow of BTM being extended.
We are there the same week and I was heartbroken not to be able to ride Indiana for the first time with my 7 year old. And SM is one of his favourites.
It will be easier to tell him that BTM will still be closed now that he can ride SM. and I think he's tall enough to try California screaming. Can't wait to enjoy some Disney magic!

According to the interactive map:

Indy is now scheduled: March 17th-May 8th (UGH our first park day is March 20th!)

Space: May 12-June26 (yay for our trip!!! Sorry for those in May/June!)

I'm kind of relieved to hear this tbh!

I was a little worried Indy would be down for my trip in May and I had already resigned myself to Space being down.

One of my kids will be disappointed about Space, but I'm secretly thrilled! She can always do it in Nov when we go back!

Can you link me to this interactive map? I can't find it anywhere.
