SO.
If we happen to be pregnant by the time we go to disney (please, please, please)....I thought it would be neat to somehow use disney to announce it to our parents. Like buying a baby size shirt and having them come over to see our souveniers when we get back home, and oh, hey, how'd that little baby outfit get in there?:rolleyes1 kwim?

Or we could mail them a postcard from WDW with some clever way of wording it..like "We're having a BABY Mickey"..although that sounds stupid because the baby will be human, not mouse. :rotfl2:

Any creative ideas? I am drawing a blank!

The Disney trip cast includes: me, DH, and our 6 yr old son.

I saw somewhere on the boards a mom holding a tiny my first disney trip shirt up to her belly. Something like that might make a cute picture for your parents, you could buy a cute disney frame to put it in for them.

My first thought was to buy a Disney onesie with your favorite character and give it to them when you return as a gift. Or, I'm sure they have something that says something about Grandma or Grandpa on it.

My other thought - not Disney but I wonder if they have something like it. I have a friend who gave her parents a ceramic keepsake "postcard" that announced a special delivery would be arriving around her due date. It was addressed to Grandma and Grandpa.

Baby's 1st Christmas ornament it can be a unisex one since it doesn't sound like you will know sex yet.

You can send them a post card signed Love the 4 of us or sign you, Dh, DS and Baby 2010. Take a picture of the warnings that say you can't ride this ride if you're preggo. Maybe buy a set of baby's first ears.

Wait until you get back. As you describe your trip, make sure you mention BTMRR, Splash Mountain, Mission Space, etc. Every time, say "It really looked like fun. Too bad I couldn't ride it" and sigh heavily. Eventually, they'll ask why, and you can say "well, pregnant women can't ride.." You could maybe also describe some of the World's signature cocktails and mention how you can't wait to try them next time.

I slay me.

Oh, and good luck. I hope you're pregnant for your trip (and also, Disney is just as fun pregnant. I was 18 weeks along when we went last year).

How exciting! Your first trip to Disney and hopefully a new baby will be on the way. Could your son wear a shirt that says "I'm the big brother." The Disney store website has an area where you can create your own shirts and you could incorporate Disney on DS shirt.

Love it!

Oh, I hope that you are pregnant for your trip too! I actually found out that I am expecting my second while we were in WDW. What a great souvenier that was! I didn't tell my family while we were there though, I found out soo early that I wanted to wait a little while longer. Good luck to you!

I did this at work to let the cat out of the bag so to speak! We just got back from Disney when I was prego with my DD (more than five years ago already!) and I am a HUGE coaster fan, so when my coworkers asked how I liked riding the coasters I just said I couldnt ride them. They asked why and I told them because I was pregnant!:)

I also went to Disney and Universal while pregnant twice and it was just as much fun. Ok minus the coasters and a few coctails, but you get to take it easy and relax a bit more and enjoy the details and sights. Have a great trip and enjoy your pregnancy when it finally happens:woohoo:

When we found out we were expecting, we had 2 disney golf balls that we had purchased secretly on a previous trip. When we were far enough along we gave them to my dad, but said he had to give one back after we found out the sex. Our first was a boy...then later we had a girl and gave him the other one too. To this day they sit in his collection! He loves telling people the story too! We just purchased them knowing "one day" we would have kids... Hoping there will be a 3rd someday too! :):lovestruc

I'm sure you will come up with something good...or catch your eye on something while you are there!

When I was newly pregnant with our first child, we were on a beach vacation and I wrote in the sand, "Baby Smith, Spring 2000" then took a picture of it. I had the film developed and just had in my vacation photos and had my mil flip through them to see it. Of course she didn't understand.....and we had to explain it. :lmao: You could do something like that on the Poly or GF beach with mickey heads too??

Or when I was having our second child I had my son wear a tshirt that said "I'm the big brother" for mil to see - of course she didn't get that one either. She's really not dense.... just slow on intuition I guess!!! :rotfl: Could you make/ find a Disney "Big Brother" t-shirt?? and take a picture of him wearing it??

CUTE IDEA! Having big brother involved is a nice thought:) I second the BIG BROTHER idea:)

I found out I was pregnant on our last WDW trip. I told my DH right after we got DD#1's 1st haircut at the barber shop in MK. While DH was in the restroom I went into the stores there and bought a baby onesie and a baby mickey stuffed animal doll and had them wrap it in a bag with pixie dust.

Then while we were heading towards the attractions on Main street I grabbed a photo pass photographer and let them know I was going to surprise my DH with something and he shot a bunch of photos of me holding DD and DH opening the bag and realizing what it meant.

You could either make a sign or get a onesie and hold it up in a photo in front of the Castle wrap that with the onesie and give it to them to open when you get home.

Do they have email?

Can you make up a picture/words or make a onsie & lay it on your belly & email them from Image Works (or whatever it is called).

I know they are a little outdated but it still works and is fun.
Example:
Plane tickets: 200 each
Park tickets : 280 each
Mickey bars : 3 each
Your first grandchild : priceless

you could use a picture montage from the trip with those slides inserted or use a postcard or something else.
When my wife was pregnant her sister happened to be pregnant as well and due just two weeks earlier so for My mother in law we did something similar but ours was
Mini van 28,000
two carseats 200
two grandchildren priceless.
Her reaction was great. We were all sitting in the room waiting for her to respond and first she looked at my wife and asked if she was having twins and my wife said "no". She then asked my sister in law if she was having twins and she also said "no". Finally she figured that both her Daughters were having a child at the same time and it was awesome. Now maybe it won't work for you but it was fun for us.

We did something like that when we told my older sister, BIL, Dnephew & Dniece, who we're going with to Disney in August... Whenever we get together we usually end up talking about what rides we're going on, etc. So DH "primes the pump" by asking Dnephew what rides he wants to go on at the AK, and who he wants... When nephew said "EE", I sighed and said - "I can't go on that ride with you this year." My sister then said "why?", and I said, "well, I'm not advised", and she said "WHY?!?!?" and I said "I'm pregnant!!!" (Much crying ensued, as we've been trying for 11 years...)

AHH I found this old thread and thought I'd update you kind people who gave ideas.

I was pregnant on the trip and we took a picture of me in front of one of the "don't ride this if you're pregnant" signs at one of the rides. Put it in a photo holder thing with a copy of the ultrasound pic and gave it to the grandparents when they came over to see our vacation stuff.

That baby is now 5 and will be taking his second (okay, technically third. LOL) trip to WDW this December. <3
