Day 7 - Friday, 9/12
Ok when I left off (so LONG ago) Kat, Mom and I were on the safari.
After we got off, Kat and I wanted to get on the Kali River Rapids. So my Mom took my stuff, and took a spot in Africa to people watch. It was great not having to worry about my stuff getting wet, but DUH - no camera! The sites in the line are really nice. Kat took a few pics so maybe she'll post them!
We both put on our rain ponchos and headed off! To me, this ride could be soo much better. Basically, besides the little hill, it's just riding around getting wet. There's no thrill really.
After we got off KRR, we walked over to Expedition Everest (EE). When it was time for us to board, we were picked for the last row. As you all may know, I have a bit of motion sickness and knew that the back of the train was the worst on the backwards part. So I asked if we could sit somewhere else. The CM pointed us further up - I was about to experience another first on this trip - FRONT ROW OF EE!!!! I didnt know if to laugh or cry! Now you all should know how sentimental I am . . . I was all mushy, because I was able to experience this with my new internet stranger turned friend Kat . . . awww . . . .
Well, the view where the track is broken off is AWESOME - yet a bit scary! It was a GREAT ride! When we got off, Kat went back in line to ride a FEW more times, while I headed back to my Mom. I spotted her watching the African dancers . . .

I thought the guy in the scarf was cute. Too bad he's a bit short!
And of course, they pulled people out of the crowd to dance. Hmmmm . . . who do you think they included. ME!!! NOOOOO!!!!! IS HE POINTING AT ME?
yes. he. is. oh no. and now because i'm the only black person up here, everyone will expect me to do well. oh gosh - it is 200degrees and i'm sweating like i just walked in a room and my friends are giving me an intervention. no more like the oven is set to 450 and the oven door broke off and fell on the floor and the knob is stuck ON. oh no i want to sit down soooo badly. maybe if i smile i can fool myself into thinking i'm cool and having fun. this. is. awful.
BUT wait! Do you all see the guy to my right in the photo? How 'bout he is SUPER FINE! He is the SUPER FINE husband and Dad we rode with on the shuttle to the park. And here I am sweating like a field hand in The Good Earth. Good Grief. I figured that since it was hot, I had a chance that he and his wife would get in a huge fight, and he would propose to me. And then I'd have a REALLY nice souvenier to bring home! HA!
I know you can't really tell, but in the pic below, I was doing REALLY well. Besides my future husband was dancing right beside me!
Finally, it was all over. My future husband even talked to me as were walking away. No, I dont remember what he said. Only that he was talking to ME, and I probably looked A HOT MESS!
I went over to my Mother where she showed me the pics she took, and I wiped off my face! Then who is walking by, Husband #2. So I got a pic with him! Isn't he cute? What's cool is, we had to be REAL close so I could fit us into the shot . . .
After collecting our things, we headed to "It's Tough Being a Bug". Thank Goodness it's on the way out of this "HOT AS AFRICA" park!
It was soooo much fun! And yes, kids still cried in it, and adults still jumped at the end. I LOVE this movie! I hope they don't change it!

Day 7 - Friday Night
After getting back to the room from Animal Kingdom, we took showers, and rested a bit. Then we got dressed, and drove over to Narcoosee's Restaurant at The Grand Floridian Resort. This place is soooo lovely! Here are 2 pics of the lobby . . .

When we found our way to the restaurant, there was a couple waitng to be seated. The husband noticed my Mickey, and told his wife. She is DisneyDawnaM. At least, I think she is! I tried sending her a PM several times, but there's no user by that name. So I probably wrote the name down wrong. We ended up sitting next to each other, and I really enjoyed talking to them.
The restaurant is nice and relaxing with a wonderful view.
My Mother and I ordered the surf and turf. IT WAS DEEE LEEE SHOUS!

For dessert, we both had the Almond Cheesecake. It's the best thing that EVER happened to me: creamy, sweet, lovely.
Seated next to us, it was Dawna's birthday. I asked for permission to take a pic of her dessert. It was really pretty!
Soon we said our goodbyes, and headed out, where my Mother and I got some great pics! Enjoy!
It started to get dark quickly as we headed back through the resort to the main parking lot. Good thing it was a picturesque walk!
This was such a LOVELY evening!

After completing such a wonderful meal, we headed over to EPCOT, to meet Antss and Kat! I was so glad to see them one last time . . .
We joined them on a bench, waiting for Illuminations to start. After the show, we headed to Mexico - my favorite place to shop! I bought a few pieces of jewelry, and Antss sneaked off and bought her and my Mom matching rings . . .
Antss then proclaimed that my Mom was now stuck with her forever! HA!
With new jewelry in tow, we then headed over to Norway! I HAD to ride Malestrom. I even got to sit in the front row!
On the way out, I showed them the bench where you can hear a recording of 2 people having a conversation.
In the shop, there were too many people trying to take pics by the gnome, so I just did this . . .
The jewelry there is beautiful . . .
We then headed over to China. I love looking around there!
On the way out, we tried riding Test Track, but the line was SUPER long. It was a bit sad heading to the parking lot. I'd really enjoyed my trip, and kept forgetting that I would not see Kat and Antss when I got home. I do hope that some day we'll meet up at WDW again!

Going Home . . .
The next morning, we didnt try to squeeze in a park or anything, we just got up and prepared to go home.
This was one of my favorite trips because of all the DISers I met. Again, it's so amazing to me how alike we all are, even though we come from different walks of life!
My Mother had a great time, and is looking forward to going again.
Thanks to everyone who made this trip special for us!

the reason you cant find Donna and Rich (well the DH is realluy Kurt but you have to ask her to tell you the story why now he is "OUR" Rich!!!

I am soooooooooo jealous everybody was there!!! Now I miss everybody.... Wirki is going back in Feb so with bart... and Kat, Vanessa and Rich are cruising in January and mandy is busy with you know who
!!! That leaves us Glenda.. when is our next trip ??? I hope to get these guys all in one place again!!!Thanks Glenda for sharing Mommy with us... Sept. trip is one of my bestest trip... thank you thank you for making it possible!!! Till next time.. and we still have to do Philadelphia with Klofan and Candice and maybe hit the World next time... together again... But for now... I love those videos of the room. The tile in the kitchen is so pretty with the little animals on it. Also the tile in the bathroom beautiful. Your video after Splash is cute too.

I was surprised that my Mother took a second sip. BUT I thought maybe she thought, "This can't REALLY taste as bad as I thought, let me try again"!
Computer viruses - I think they are AWFUL. I've never had a virus before, and I hope I never get one again. You trully have to start from scratch! And I still dont have everything back on it. But hey, at least I can do pictures, and I have sound!

and all I can feel is that my bones are cracking into a thousand pieces... but promise as soon as I get better I will start missing you again As for 2009... if you go the 1st week of Sept. I will def'ly miss you since I am hoping to go around October... I missed the F&W this year!!!

I'll be there October 18-23 with my DISer friend, redbudlover! I've decided that September is just too hot and humid, so all future trips will be in early May and late October/early November.

We leave in 3 weeks when are you planning your next trip? You r so lucky that your mom tagged along, my mom is not into Disney at all. I wish that she would just go but maybe we can get her to go on the next trip. At least this time my Twin sister, her two babies and my nephew will be going with us. So that makes it cool as well.
