After nosing around this Codes & Rates sub-forum and trying to plan my own trip, I developed an Excel spreadsheet that will help to compare the potential and/or available promotions.

Here is where to download the file:

http://sites.google.com/site/wdwplanningworksheets/promotion-package-comparison

A few notes and tips on this spreadsheet:

1) Please note that there are multiple tabs/worksheets named as the time periods that I am considering. Each is titled with the number of days and the time frame I am looking to go. There are worksheets for both 10 and 7 day trips as well as a summary of savings page to see an overview of how much you are actually saving with a promotion.

2) The only cells that need to be changed are the top cells:
a) Underneath "Week of" input your dates as a range.
b) Underneath "# of Nights" input the number of nights your will be staying.
c) Next to "Rack Room Rates" enter the total room only reservation rate for your specific time frame. As you know this can be found by going to the Disney Vacation website and searching for a room only rate.
d) Next to "Total Ticket Rate" enter the total ticket price for your time frame. Be sure to include the total price including Park Hopper and Water Parks & More price in the total price if that is part of your plan.
e) Next to each individual dining plan section, enter the total PER DAY dining rate for your party, NOT the total dining plan price for your stay. The formulas for the promotions utilize the PER DAY price.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions, tips, etc. Thanks and again, Happy WDW Planning!

Thanks guys. Any other feedback? I'll get a 7 day version up today!

ETA: It's up and running now! Let me know if you have questions, problems, suggestions, etc. Thanks!

I am uncertain of just how to download your spreadsheet. When I click on 'Save to my Files' it says my user ID is invalid. Do I need to sign up for the website?

I also LOVE Google. This link worked perfectly and I can even connect through my work LAN (they only allow Google). I have opened & saved the spreadsheet and look forward to working with it - so THANKS!

GREAT! Glad that worked better. I'm loving this Google site too. Hopefully I'll have more worksheets to put up.

THANKS for this extremely useful tool and kudos for developing it! :cheer2:

Thank you for doing that! I can now see what I long suspected but never could sit down and figure out we definitely save more as a couple during the 4/3 instead of free dining esp when they offer/ed the 200.00 gift card. Ok so we are going to hope for that promotion again!

Me too! It was always a question as to which discount works best for each person. I'm hoping for the 4/3 promo again as well!

Wow...does this mean that the 4/3 deal is actually the better than free dining or am I interpreting the numbers wrong?
I always suspected that but being numerically challenged was never able to quite figure it out.

It really depends. If you have a large family and are staying in a value, it might be more beneficial to you. However it is a better deal for me as a single mother to get the 4/3 in a value and add the dining plan. It all depends on your unique situation. Also, the more adults you have, the more you save with the dining plan.
