Update!!!

Hi, everybody, i'm back online. We're doing well after the storm. My husband is home and the Air Force is likely moving us within the next few months. Our van was totalled, but other than that, minor damage to the house and that's all.
Just to let you all know, I asked my friend, Tracy to post my info on several forums, and not one person has used that info for anything other than to see what we've needed and how we've been. The hospital where i and the children sheltered, was reported as destroyed, so for a short time, our family was listed as missing! There were people out there, including my poor husband who thought we were killed, based on the info they were getting. So, excuse me and my friend for not considering internet safety in posting my number. I can assure you I will not make that mistake again. This forum will be left off the list of people to notify with my contact info in the event of an emergency.

Wow--I'm sorry you're angry about people being concerned that your home phone number was posted on a public board with over 60K registered members, and who knows how many lurkers. We've all already heard scam stories and I don't think anyone wanted any more misfortune to befall you and your family.

Glad everyone is OK, and again, I'm sorry you're upset that people were concerned about your continued safety.

I agree that posting personal information on ANY public forum isn't a good idea. Please don't let it hurt your feelings that people were concerned over your safety and the safety of your family. Though people have used your information for good this time, it could come back to be a nightmare in the future.

PS - IMO, what was done was done with the best of intentions and not out of any malice. People care and, oddly enough, often want what they think is best for all their friends and loved ones.
