Here's what it says in the guide (also available online--it's the same one they mailed with the card):
1. Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM earned during the month will not be available to you for use until they are posted to your Program account, as reflected on your billing statement. Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM will not be posted to your Program
account earlier than the monthly billing cycle that follows the billing cycle in which they are accrued. In certain cases, the accrual of Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM may be subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions precedent by Cardmember
and/or imposed by Bank One and/or Disney Rewards, LLC, and therefore may take several billing cycles to post the Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM to your Program account. Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM may not be redeemed towards
past purchases of goods or services.
Maybe this is the part you're thinking of:
(a) If you are late making your minimum monthly payment as indicated on your monthly billing statement, the number of Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM you have earned that month will accrue, but will not be available to you for use unless and until you pay any past due amount and pay your current minimum monthly payment by the payment due date.
Remember, you have to have $20 accrued before you can cash out. So unless you've made $2000 worth of charges already, before you get your bill, you probably won't have enough to cash out before your trip and get them in time, but I don't know.
Well, just cashed out for my "Disney Dream Rewards" dollars. Now I'll get to see how long they take to ship!
I only have one $50 charge to the card - I use my Starwood AMEX and Chase I-Card for everything, and it's hard for me to break the habit of using those two cards. Keep us all posted on those certificates - if the redemption time is quick and they're easily accepted in WDW, then I might be a Visa convert!
