It was slightly over a year ago today that Monty dog went for his very first checkup. He got a clean bill of health and his shots.

And slightly a week after that, he started acting weird. Not eating, sleeping all the time, barely moving when he was awake. Gagging and sneezing. We rushed him to the vet and found out he had a very serious case of pnuemonia.

I remember how terrified we were. We canceled any and all plans we had so that we could stay up with him all night, trying desperately to get him to eat and take his medicine. But we did. And it was worth it and I'd not hesitate to do it again if I had to.

As you can guess, all that effort paid off and today, Monty Dog is fit as a fiddle. :)

Throughout the last year, he's had to go to the vet for problems a few times. Once he had some bad stomach problems, which turned out to be nothing, and once we found out he had major allergies and needed medication.

Today, in one hour, will be Monty's first non-emergency vet visit in a year. He is going in for standard shots, and a regular annual checkup.

I'm still scared though, that there will be some sort of bad news. Or that he'll react badly to a vaccine. I love our vet, and she's been there for us through so much. But I still worry.

If anyone has a spare moment to send some pixie dust or good wishes to Monty Dog today, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you all.

Hey, cute little dude dog, Monty....:p you have a good check up and get back to the boards...we want to hear all about that clean bill of doggie health the vet is going to pronounce on your cute little body!!::yes::

Good luck and best wishes!

Monty's fine, you need the pixie dust. ;) I hope it all goes well.

PD to Monty dog...I have only recently made your acquaintance, but know that you are very special dog, indeed! Now hurry up and get back with your clean bill of health so that you can try to teach my new little Lily some manners (12 wk old beagle, she is!)

Hang in there EsmeraldaX! I'll be thinking of you both today!

Sending good thoughts Monty's way that everything will be A ok.

Here's some PD for both you and Monty :wizard:

Let us know how his visit goes okay?

:wave2:

Monty says "Don't worry, it's better to go in for my annual than no exam at all."

I'm sure Monty will do just fine, and remember to make it up to him after all of those shots.:mickeybar Pixie dust to both of you.

Looking forward to some pictures of Monty after he passes his examination with flying colors!:D

I'm sure that the DIS's favorite little pooch will be fine. :D

Hang in there, Sheri! I'll be looking for an update.

Here's to a clean bill of health, Monty Dog!! :sunny:

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hope you have a clean bill of health, Monty Dog!

Monty dog got a clean bill of health; the only problem he had is that the vet said he is about 1 lb overweight but that it's certainly manageable. :) :) :)

The vet gave him his shots and he did not even flinch. He actually wagged his tail and gave her a kiss goodbye when we left.

Thank you all for caring and thinking of Monty. Silly me was such a nervous wreck I did not bring my camera to the vets (I usually take it everywhere) but here's a picture of him helping me write this message of thanks. :)
