I posted a month or so ago about taking our DD4 with us to this dinner. DH had his heart set on it. Several people were quick to point out that Shulas would frown on this. Well, I wanted to let everyone know that we did take DD4 and she was wonderful.

When we first got there the hostess was very nice and told DD that she looked very pretty. They did seat us sort of out of the way a little, but it was still a nice table. The food was excellent and the service was great too. Best filet I had all week. DD was perfectly happy eating the bread and then sharing my potato and steak with me. They didn't charge me a fee for sharing. Then she shared my creme brulee. She was very impressed when they seated us and the hostess put DD's napkin in her lap for her and then pushed her up to the table.

It was an excellent dinner and I was very proud of DD for behaving so well. We also ate at Yachtsman and CA Grill and she did great at both of those too. There were lots of kids at the other two though.

No one frowned about her being there or even hinted that there was childcare available. They treated her great and she responded by behaving wonderfully!

Good for you. We always took our kids everywhere when they were that age. How else are kids going to learn how to behave in restaurants if they are always not allowed to join you. I can understand if you have a very active child and you know they won't do well in a certain environment but for others it is a great time to spend with your children.

My kids are now 12 and 10 and we can take them anywhere at anytime
The only time they do not come out to dinner with us if we are looking to spend some time just as a couple

Dining out is an exciting experience for a little girl and I am so happy to hear that your server recognized that and gave your little one an evening to remember.

I'm glad it went well for you! I know how stressful it can be when we bring kids to dinner. :scared: ;)
