As the "mom" of a couple of Rotties, I know how you feel. People say they are mean and attack, but they don't know them like we do. Riese, our male will be 14 on April 2! He's been diagnosed w/ heartworms (even though we gave him the pills) and was given 3 months...but that was about 8 months ago! I told the vet, "don't tell him he's old, or sick, and he'll be just fine". Tuffy was my female....she passed about 8 years ago and I still miss her terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Doc...he's a beautiful Rottie! Hang in there and don't tell him he's sick!!

Dan, I well remember Doc's last bout with this but I didn't fully understand how limited his pronosis was. I'm very sorry to hear this and I hope that he far exceeds the vets predictions.

Oh my gosh Dan....I am so sorry to hear that the remission has ended. I do however, STRONGLY believe in the power of prayer and will be saying lots of them, specifically directed to St Francis. There has been a few times over the past few years that I thought for sure that Thumper was not going to make it through the night and as you are well aware, he is still with us.
