Update on "not too thrilled Hubby"

First of all, thank you all for your responses, support, and suggestions.

Here's the update: I asked my husband to sit down and look at some of the photos of the ship. The more we looked, the more interested he seemed. Finally he said, "Well, it's a lot more sophisticated then I thought it would be. I was expecting something kitchy like Toon Town"

Then my son came over and saw Marcy's post with a picture of Minnie hugging the little girl. My son looked up at my husband and wistfully said "I want Minnie to hug ME"

My husband looked at me, then back at my son and said:

"I think we can arrange that."

Then the music swelled and the sun set (well, not that last part, but it did in my heart.)

So while we may not have a total convert just yet, at least he's seeing the light!

Your son will have plenty of opportunities for hugs with characters -- I think that was one of about 50 good character pictures we took of our dd.

A happy warm fuzzy ending . I agree with one of the posters in your other thread, vacations are a little different with children. Not their exact words but once children enter the picture you have to learn to bend, do something for the children and maybe if you can swing it, have your adult vacation later. You will discover that your have a good chance for having some quality adult time while your little one is in the club. Sounds like he likes the mouse. Have a great cruise. Kathy

That is terrific! My DH was sort of the same way before we booked our first trip - wasn't too sure about cruising OR WDW (I know, I know) - his idea of a "great" vacation was camping in the woods. Well he decided he'd go for me and the kids.

He is now a total convert and we keep trying to figure out ways to go back. The problem now isn't traveling with the kids it is that the kids are so busy traveling with out us (and never at the same time) that there isn't time for us to go! And despite the fact that they are heading out on marvelous adventures (DS for instance is off to Brazil in June for 3 weeks with his high school choir) if we said we were going on a DCL cruise without them it would incite a riot!
