Thank you to everyone who replied to my post about my precious Tiggy. It's hard to type through the tears, but I wanted to let you know we had to make that very hard decision today. She was not responding to treatment and when we went to visit today it was obvious she was suffering. We could not allow that and had to do the hardest thing any pet owner has to do. We will miss her forever.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We had to put our dog down last month, and it was so very difficult. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I am so sorry. I checked in this thread off and on today to see if there was any improvement. I agree it is a hard thing to do but the right thing to do at the end like that.

I had to have the dog in my avatar put to sleep in Nov. The first week that she was gone, I kept saying that I should not have done it, but my friends and family knew how hard I had tried to get her well and they knew it was the right time and told me so. I spent countless hours at the vet trying to make her better but it wasn't meant to be. I know she is with my Dad. She was too old and too sick.

Gosh, I am crying while I type this. Here is a hug for you.

:grouphug: I'm sorry. That is such a heart breaking decision to make.

Ohhh, I'm so sorry to hear that :( Big hugs and comforts to you!

I am so sorry, Michele. What a sad thing to have happen on vacation.

When I put down our family cat in 1992, I cried for days, I felt so bad about it. I get choked up to this day remembering how hard it was to do.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We had to do this 4 years ago for our Sandy, and Oz is 14 and we know we have to make the decision for him too very soon.

It is such a hard decision to make. Hugs to you and your family!! :grouphug:

I am so sorry for your loss. It hurts. Know that she pats butterflies at the Rainbow Bridge. Peace to you sweet Tigger.

So sorry for the loss of your furbaby..take comfort in knowing that you did all you could, that your poor baby is no longer suffering..my kitties Doobie and Simba are recent arrivals at the Rainbow Bridge..and I am sure they will help guide your Tigger around..God Bless you and your family in this time of sadness..all of us on the DIS with furbabies feel your loss and your pain
Lynn

Like the others, I am so sorry for your loss. I've had to do this quite a few times over the years, and it never gets easier. Just try to remember that you enriched her life just as she did yours. We also have a Tigger (although he's male). He's a very large, yellow cat who turned up one night. I call him Tiggy a lot too.

Again, I am so sorry and wish there were words to ease your pain...:grouphug:

Not an easy one... but the right one. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Nancy:hug:

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words. I am so sorry any of us have to go through this. It's so so hard.

So sorry! We had the same dilema last month. Our Pooky Bear who was about 15 was suffering from the same diagnosis. It was a difficult decision but we didn't want her to suffer anymore. I hope each day gets easier for you.:grouphug:
