Update on My Previous Post "Bride's Mother an Idiot"

Yesterday, bride and her bridesmaids boldly went out without mother-of-the-bride (and without mother-of-the-groom) and selected gowns for the bridal party. Today, bride to be and her matron of honor went to look at a couple more wedding dresses.

And to beat all, bride and groom have found a two-bedroom townhouse in the historic section of our little town and have fallen in love with the idea of it and now do NOT plan to rent house from bride's mother. They are so excited about being able to walk out their front door and walk on all the sidewalks in the neiighborhood and to the library and to the ice cream parlor on Main Street. It is what being a newly wed should be all about.

Mother of bride does not know about townhouse yet. But I am very excited for them.

I'm excited for them too. I hope they are having tons of fun planning their future.

I was in a similar position with my MIL when I was first married and it was terrible!

She doesnt like me too well because I gained a backbone in a hurry and actually have the audacity to have my own opinions. The NERVE of me, eh?

My MIL was sort of the same way, but I had my mom to deal with and my MIL got lost in the noise. My mom loved my h so she was happy with whatever he wanted.
