A lot of you have asked how Mike was doing so I thought I'd post here so the responses are not scattered on multiple threads. I want to thank all my dIS family for their prayers and concerns.

In case you hadn't heard my DH broke both bones in his forearm playing hockey and had to have metal plates and screws implanted. All this is bad enough, add to it the fact that we are scheduled to leave for WDW in 9 days. The injury occured on Mon 11/18.

He is recovering and is off the pain killers, only taking motrin. His arm is still very swollen and he shredded the nerves so has no feeling in the side of his hand.

He managed to get an earlier appt for suture removal, so he's going this Fri. 11/29. Hopefully we will see some improvement and his Dr. will release him to go on our trip. I figure he can grip rides with his right arm, he rarely hold on anyways, he loves thrill rides. We have decided to forgo USO and IOA until another trip. We do have ressies for the segway tour our last Fri there 11/12 so I'm hoping he gets well. He really wants to do this.

Thanks again for all your concerns, I'll keep you posted!!

Wow Sara I had no idea. I am glad to hear he is making a progress recovery wise. I hope everything works out for your trip and you are able to go! Hang in there!

Hi Sara. Glad to know you guys are doing OK. And that you haven't given up going on vacation. Maybe you guys will be able to do some non-park stuff . A relaxing vacation is always good. And I know there are lots of stuff at Disney I would love to try, but never get around to because we are in the parks.

Oh wow----I'm glad you guys are still able to go. It's still Disney and you'll have fun. 4 days before my last trip I dislocated my kneecap and had to be wheeled around in a wheelchair for the first three days   and I thought it would stink. But, I still had a fab time even though I wasn't able to enjoy all my favorites due to knee not being able to bend too well. I'm sure you and your hubby will find the same experience!

I am glad to read your husband is doing better. I imagine you will still have a good time on vacation. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone! I'm so looking forward to this trip. As of today, the swelling has gone down a little so that's good news! I'll keep ya posted!

I hope that your husband is soon fully recovered and that you have a wonderful vacation.
