A late night post cause I can't sleep right now.
Today I had 2 CT's and 1 Full Body Bone Scan (like the Chinese restaurant of procedures....I'll take 2 from Column A and 1 from column B please with an extra egg roll IV to go)....
Anyway since I'm practically a regular now at radiology it's just like a visit with old friends! Maxine got my IV started in one shot! (I love her. She always says a little prayer with me to get us started). So I got two injections of some nuclear stuff. Then sit and wait.
Oh, no....here's Judy who's reminding me that I need to drink my ever-delicious Gastro-Graphin. Kind of a lemonade flavor with really no lemons. More like yellow water, except that water tastes better.
Drink the "lemonade" and have to wait an hour until the CT's can be done. La-De-Da. Stroll around and see Keith, my #1 IV man. Then back toward the front to see how Edwina's doing. Back to the room with the TV.
Time for Judy again! Get my 2 CT's done. Yeah! Is it time yet for the Bone Scan? Oh no way! Another hour still. Ugh. At this time I'm feeling kinda queasy (nothing since dinner last night except for "lemonade") and the really nice tall, bald nurse (ya'll know him, don't you??) comes with some Phenergan IV.
Being a frequent flyer, I ask Judy if she has any patients coming or could I just lay down and rest on the CT table until it's time for the Bone Scan. Sure, what's a nice, sturdy, hard, metal 12" wide table between friends. I snooze.
Judy comes to wake me up (I know ya'll are jealous, this is sounding like one of those cruise commercials isn't it!?) and wheels me back over to Maxine who I hadn't seen for 3 and a half hours now. Get situated on that nice sturdy metal 8" wide table for a 45 minute bone scan. I request music! My request is denied with apologies and I think to myself I should bring this up to the concierge.
My IV is summarily ripped out and DH comes to drive me over to the surgeon's office right next door. Surgeon schedules me for the operation to put a port back in my chest..blah....blah...blah..... tomorrow at noon.
So tomorrow you will hear the escapades of Kate, Katie, Donna, the tall, bald nurse, and probably Keith again.
My original GP calls Jim at work though and tells him.....here it is.... GOOD NEWS...... my bone scan was clean as a whistle!!!! I was so sure the cancer had gone into my bones because I've had horrible shoulder pain for about a week. I think now it may be stress from DD.
ALSO.....drum roll please..... Both CT's were spanking clean, too! No liver involvement (they were afraid of that because my biliruben was doubled), no spleen involvement and the tumor in my abdomen grew a teeny tiny amount, like a tenth of a cm.
Wheeeee!! So I came home, ate something finally, and went to bed. DS6 had a wonderful ball game tonight Jim and Rhett and Rhett's girlfriend all went. Kevin got a hit each time at bat and made it around all the bases twice! He was beaming from ear to ear Jim said. I was so happy!
I have been so low these past several days, I wanted to be able to post something happy. I know ya'll are with me and have praying so hard. Those of you who say things like you are lifting me up in prayer, give me such a beautiful mental image to focus on when times are tough. Thank you.
So, port installation tomorrow, lung biopsy at a future time as yet undetermined, and visit with onc. who is back (!!!) tomorrow or Monday.
DD is still being a pain. I am trying SO hard to be patient with her. And I'm supposed to see the lawyer about stupid ex saying that DD is now an emanicpated adult....Good God, DS6 is more of an emancipated adult than DD20. I'll just have to talk to the lawyer on the phone or something. Frosts my butt to be dealing with that stuff right now.
So I'm heading off to bed since I decided I would NOT wake Snappy up at this hour! Many heartfelt thanks to you all. I'll try to update tomorrow. You all mean the world to me!
I'm so happy to smile tonight. Maybe I *will* make it to WDW in 2 weeks!!

Beth

I am so happy to hear your good news. I will keep positive thoughts for you!

We'll set them straight in a hurry! I promise, we'll be gentle, but firm with DD, but can't make the same promise about the ex.
You don't need this stuff right now.
Please know you're in my prayers also.
