I know Robyn just updated you but I got home from Chemo and have a power surge. I don't think it will last long so I am taking advantage while I can.
I had my 2nd Chemo and they gave me the Procrit immediatly after just to make sure my counts don't go as low as they did last week. My Hemoglobin count was 900. the normal for women is 12,000-16,000 so I was just a little low to say the least. But I am feeling a little better every day.
I go tomorrow for the Nulasta to build up my WBC's. That shot is not as painful as the Procrit though so I can tolerate that one.
I came home from the Chemo and took a walk around my block. This was the first time I could do that, I usually make it to the middle of my street and get winded.
Then I ate like a pig. I have never been so hungry. I haven't eaten much for weeks but today everything looked good. I hope I didn't overdo it but I will take the anti-nausea meds soon and hope for the best.
One of the women I met today is a Disney nut. She finished her Chemo and is now getting a hormone receptor. I won't get that because my tumor was not hormone receptive. She did the Chemo and radiation and when she was done she took her family on the Land/Sea Disney Cruise. She was tired but the entire family needed a break after what they had all been through. I thank God that my boys are older, her children are 7 and 9 now. They must have been so scared when she was going through her worst.
The nurse that I had today is also a Disney nut. She was a little shocked when I told her I had made 7 trips this year and 9 last year, and she asked me where I stayed. I told her I was a DVC member and she understood. Her son bought into WLV and she has gone with him twice this year.
I am getting spoiled by all of you. I am getting some of the nicest gifts. I don't know how I am gong to take being healthy, you all are spoiling me so much. I hope if you any of you are ever in this place I will be as nice.
I am now a proud recipient of a Sandy MacGowan (and Brain lol) original. Sandy, that is the most beautiful artwork I have ever seen. I have the frame, and when Richie is feeling better he will hang it in my bedroom so I can see it daily. There aren't enough thank you's for what everyone has done for me.
Florence is not feeling well today but he did take me to Chemo. He is resting right now but I honestly don't know what I would do without him here. He has been dong my dressing changes twice a day when I can't even bear to look at the wound.
I guess I am truly blessed and this Cancer was just another way for me to see what good people I know. Thank you all again and again. Peggie
