As most of you know, I've been on bedrest since last thrusday due to high blood pressure. Today I had a normal appt. My blood pressure is still a little highSo, I'm still on bedrest and will be until the baby is born.

We did get a surprise, though. Dr asked me if I could study for the bar laying down and I told her that I figured I couldn't take the bar since it's right before my due date. Dr smiled and laughed and said I'd probably have the baby by then. Because of my pressure, she said she'll probably take the baby 2 weeks early!!! Which means only 4 more weeks of bedrest!

We did get to have another ultrasound today b/c dr wanted to check on the baby's size to make sure he's okay. He is still a he...ultrasound tech said nothing fell off, so that's good. :) He's in the right position, so that makes me happy...so his butt has been in my ribs...I feel better knowing I've been poking his butt and not his face. ;)

I'll keep y'all updated...I'll now see the dr once a week and get monitored twice a week...so at least I'll get out of the house twice a week. :)

You sound in really good spirits. I'm glad. That baby will be here before you know it and I'm so glad you get to take your exam.

I'm glad to hear that things are going smoothly. I hope the bed rest part is over before you know it and that you can take the bar exam. {{{HUGS}}} for you and your little one.

Enjoy that rest while you can, skuttle!

Keep us posted! :)

So glad things are going a little better. Stay in bed and get some rest as instructed. But, update us sometimes :)

Skuttle if you think you might be at the docs for awhile take a pillow. I had to do non stress tests and I always took a pillow but don't fall asleep they don't like that. :p

My wife had high blood pressure during her last pregnancy. She ended up being hospitalized for a couple of days before they induced labor. This was on a week or so early. As you have heard, high blood pressure is serious during a pregnancy and you need to be careful.

Good luck with the baby and the bar.

Glad to hear the good update :) WIshing you and your baby all the best. And who knows... you might be able to try to take the bar after all. If not, at least you will have that precious baby :) Take care :)

Glad you are doing well. I had to be on bed rest with 1st dd due to high blood pressure. At 38 weeks, the doctor induced me and I had a beautiful baby! You will too! Kick back and relax!:D

Glad to hear things are stable! Rest up! LOL about poking him in the butt and not the face...I totally can relate!
Not too much longer!

Hi Skuttle!

Glad to hear your mood is bright! I'm finding with Amy that nature and the doctors take care of most of this, but how DO you keep so bright and chipper about the whole thing?

Hang in there.

Pat

Glad you all are doing OK and that the baby will be here sooner! I enjoyed the bedrest part b/c
1. I didn't have to stay in bed
2. DH had to cook and do laundry
3. I could read and surf all day
4. No work!

Take care and keep us posted!

I was placed on modified bed rest at 30 weeks with my first due to high blood pressure. I was still allowed to work, but other than that, I had to be lying down on my left side. At 32 weeks, when my blood prssure started to rise even more, I was put on bed rest. I was allowed little adventures to Babies R Us or the grocery store, but for the most part, I was supposed to lie down on my left side. I was constantly monitored, 3 times per week, I ventured to the DR's office. After they started seeing protein in my urine, I was then monitored on a 24 hour urine test. The first one came back o.k. so it was back to more bedrest. At 36 weeks, again another 24 hour urine. That one I failed, which meant I was becoming eclamptic. I was at the Dr's when the results came back and was told to proceed to the hospital immediately. Since I was only 36 weeks, and had been on bedrest for over a month, I hadn't even packed!!!! So, I had to BEG the Dr to allow me to go home to pack. Well, that was at 1:00pm, and DD was born by emergency c-section at 7:14pm that night. I couldn't be induced because DD was still breach and they also wanted to get her out FAST. Most of the delay was because there was no room in the operating room for me. There were 3 people in labor who developed distress while I was getting prepped (mainly trying to get IV in me) so I had to wait. I even remember my Dr coming by and saying, we're always next, but we keep getting bumped. It wasn't fun, but hey, I got caught up on all my soaps!!! I became so swollen that it became difficult to walk. I was so swollen, DH told me that when the Dr. tested my swelling in my ankles, they were like a clay. The Dr's finger depression stayed for a couple of minutes!! My legs were swollen up past my knees, making it difficult to walk. Actually my fingers swelled up so MUCH, they never went back to their pre-pregnancy size. I used to wear a size 6 1/2 ring, and they now are approx 7 1/2 and I weigh less now then I did before I got pregnant with DD.
